I'm a sophomore in High School and I think it's the PERFECT time to get start learning 3D Model Editing since thats what I want to major in and Maya is used by mostly every company, so I downloaded Maya Personal Learning Edition 8.5 but it lacks A LOT of tools + puts a BIG icon on your stuff. Is their a way I can get Maya Unlimited or Complete free or maybe another way to learn 3D Model Editing? I know people say "torrent" it but I suck at torrenting and I got a Mac OS X Leopard but I got bootcamp on it so I can run it on my Windows XP but I prefer my Mac OS X. Any help please?

Torrent would be one way, although that is illegal. I bet you would be able to find a mac version though. But I know that there are some stores around the web that sell student edition Ultimate or Professional versions that does not cost $5000 but more like $300-$500. That would be a legal way of doing it. I do not think that you can get the ultimate of other version for free though.
I am a 3D person as well. I have worked with many different programs like, Cinema 4D, 3DStudio Max, Little bit of Maya, and some other video editing programs like After Effects, Premier Pro, some photoediting: Photoshop CS3, Illustrator, and Paint Shop Pro. So if you need help in any one of these areas, please ask me. :)

Maya is a lot of money, no way around it. If you want the full version, bring your wallet.
You know, if I were you I would ask your school to see if they can get it for you. When I was in high school I had full access to these types of softwares for free. Because every student has a budget, they would just take the money out of your budget as long as you already have your basic needs for the year. Of course, you'd have to return the software at the end of the year. But it's better than spending a big chunk of change on it yourself. ;-)

Maya is the best, hands down. But it costs so much.

Maya is a standard for film production, but if there would not be any other programs around like RealFlow, Houdini, XSI, Cinema 4D, After Effects, AVID and all those then Maya would not be so powerful. The thing is that Maya can incorporate and you can import in scenes from other software that help out during work flow in Maya. Maya also might be the hardwast graphical application out there but once you know you won't regret having it.
Many people get turned down just becuase maya is so difficult to use, but I say that if you put a lot of time into it like over summer break, maybe half of your day, every single day over summer than you will truly become an amazing user of the application. I think it is worth it. :)

At some point the company was giving out free serials for Maya IIRC
You could try downloading the free edition as well. I never tried it myself

That is the Personal Learning one, that is missing all of the good stuff + puts on a watermark.

Milkshape is a pretty decent program, I used it to model a few things when I was hard modding my xbox and modding Halo 2. Good times!

Is it a torrent site, or plain download?

Lets keep the discussion of pirated/torrented non purchased software's off the forums. If your going to discuss such things do it email or some where else.
If there's any more discussion of it the thread will be deleted and possibly some vacations for the active participants.
Sorry to be the Hard Butt but the discussion of those matters could leave us with some liability.
I got the full ultimate edition for free. I think its hard to search for one in google. Edited out by staff for legal reasons.

Nice catch Methious...Guys please don't put Bjorn3D in between a rock and a hard place by talking about pirated software! We can't tolerate that as Mehious said for legal reasons.

Lol, i stick with blender, sure that UI is way different, i tried maya PLE free, and got freaked out and had no clue to use it, but blender is a good way to learn nonetheless, as far as terminology and the basics. Blender is very scaleable too.
