A little over my head but some of you guys might appreciate it, if you haven't already heard of this before it could allow pc's to start up instantly where it was when you turned it off.

Oh wow its about damn time they get this somewhat right. My dad has been raving about how these shoulda been out a long time ago. Do you know what this means? SSDs will get a big kick if they put this action that way. You can make large capacity SSD out of RAM chips and it would be smoking fast and not lose your information that a HD wouldnt. Of course, with software from today you already have that. Its called hibernation but you cant unplug your computer. I wonder if you unplug your computer giving it no juice at all will it still remember the charge it had?

That's actually an old idea applied to a new technology.
The Space Shuttle has been using one of the oldest and most reliable storage method for over a decade. Magnetic Drum Storage. Why? Because if they get a power failure when power is restored their right back to where they left off.
Apply that to SSD and you see it's not new, but old technology coming of age.

Except the fact that these can be implemented in chips such as RAM and processors. And they hope to use these to replace the transistor.
