did you install the latest patch from crysis? Also, are you using creative card? Some users seem to have issue with creative sound makingi cracking sounds.

Hi victor, have installed 1.2 patch, and the audio I'm using is the onboard audio and have downloaded the latest drivers from xfx site
thing is weird, I am using the hdmi input into a hp w2408h, keeps making popping like noises, also sounds like buffer under run when running crisis. I have noticed that the pop sound happens with the aurora screen saver on, is doing me head in

could it be an issue with the HDMI or digital audio, have you try maybe using the old analog audio?

possibly, the problem is intermittent when just on windows screen or screen saver mode just starts, then stops again. Going to try another game. I have made the analog the default. when I run hdmi test theres no sound :frown:
Update 070508
re hdmi no sound - doh embaressed smile, thats what that lead is for. :)
further to sound problems, ghost recon fine, far cry fine to, have noticed that crysis sound is a little better when run in windowed mode, not full screen but not much. Have bought a x-fi to prove or dis prove that it's the board but I think it's direct x with the realtek that are miss behaving. Also noticed Realtek have version 1.91 of the drivers for 64 bit on their website, going to download these and give them a go

Have downloaded latest driver from realtek direct to see if this would get rid of the problem, version 1.91. Still the same.
RE: hdmi cable for 9800 gx2, where o where does this plug into the 790i board, can't find a header for it.

fantastic, connected the spdif cable sound problems cured (again thanks vic). no stuttering under crisis. no intermitent clicks from the monitor any more. Looks like the xfx 9800 gx2 requires termination if using hdmi cable only. Or they maybe a driver issue possibly.
Happy happy happy.:-D
