i agree. The whole mac add that they trashing PC is just stupid. I own a macbook but if I don't konw better about computer hardware, I would so turn off by how they advertise their products.

The way I see it, they only reason Apple has been doing so well is because Microsoft has been doing so badly. If you look at their stocks over the last year every advance that Apple has made corresponds directly to a fall in Microsoft stock. Coincidence, I think not. When there are two main players and one collapses then it is only natural for the other to take it's place. That's not good business management. It's largely luck. After all, what has Apple done recently to merit such a rise in stock value? The iPhone has been old news for quite some time. Apple tv never really took off. The Macbook Air was a joke. Am I missing anything?

anyways, maybe they are trying to buy some market, but who is'nt these days..... and my god, do I ever love my ipod.

I'm a proud mac owner, but I like to game and tweak, so I have a PC too....
but open the adobe suite on both and I chose the mac over anything else.

Different computers for different things. Don't own a Mac just because I don't need to. They are useful in their things that they do over a PC. I just prefer a PC for it's resourcefulness to adapt just like myself. I once ran a Bystronic computer system in a factory and that thing really did it's job well. It has it's use but you could not play games on it either. I would not buy one for that reason it just makes sense. If I want to game a lot then I would buy a PC obviously. If I am heavy into video editing, images, photography etc then yeah I would have got myself a Mac most likely. The ads I find funny and have a good laugh every now and then. On the principle of lying, what company doesn't? They all do! Heck I bought myself a bunch of SilentX Pro fans and they are rated on the cover for 14db....Yeah if they are off and I am spinning it with my fingers!!! How many times have we heard Microsoft saying the next OS is going to be more stable then the last only to come out with something that makes the user think the blue screen of death is the actual background on the desktop. They all lie, it's business and they will do so for as long as they can get away with it. On a moral scope of the consumer it is not cool and some do it with style like the Mac ads by making them funny. I just laugh and turn around and get back to gaming!

Our school had a imac for a little while. I got on it everyday figuring it out and whatnot. It was fun......I hopped on Garage Band and made some super-generic and bland songs with the included loops. :smile:

What I couldn't do with the imac though is connect to our schools network. No matter how hard I tried it wouldn't fly. I guess it just didn't like our PC server running Fedora core 4. Networking wasn't the only problem, I had the imac crash on me when I was browsing around the harddrive while Garage Band was playing the song minimized.

Really, macs nowadays are just nicely packed PC's. You can install Linux, Windows, and MacOS on a mac computer. You can also install Linux, Windows, and MacOS on a PC now too. It's not really smart to buy the mac hardware for more unless you want the Apple name and it's service fees :lol: Apple computers do look pretty the first few times you look at them though.

Windows has it's problems, Linux has it's problems, Macs also have their problems as well.

It doesn't matter if it's a mac, a PC, or a microwave. The main thing you all need to remember is that computers suck. :-D

That being said, understand that I am a person who thinks that a world with no viruses is no fun. ;-)
