I personally think that the 8800 looks a million times better. I dont like the bend in the 9800. The 8800 is my favorite graphics card design to date. I would really like to buy one of these but im not going to pay that much for one when i could get a 8800 GTS 512 for cheaper lol.

I agree, but the bend is there for a reason....
better intake, when you have a card right under the 8800s (see SLI), there is no breathing/intake room.
see this choking example: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/screenshots/original/2007/12/3waySLI_01.JPG
That curve DOES look gay thought.

Who cares what it looks like. It goes upside down in your case and you cant see it. If your that worried about it then buy 2 VF1000s to cool the monster.

Personally I have seen both up close and personal and the 9800gtx is way more refined looking in the cooler design. The cards Damn long though.

Well they all are compared to my little 7950GT. I wouldnt complain about an increase in aerodynamics of the cooler honestly. Besides you cant really see it looking at it from the top.

Well if you mount your board right anyone can see the top of the card though that takes skill and most likely a custom case.

Or a BTX standard case.

Or again, most lian-li motherboard setups are upside-down. Looks pretty cool too.

Thats because most Lian-Li cases are BTX.

I would say buy an 8800 GTS 512 & OC it to achieve performance level at par or even more of a 9800GTX. ;)

The point of the post was the design of the 2 cards and how he liked one better though. Hes not going to buy either.

8800 GTX - about 200$ over priced.
9800 GTX - over clocked 8800 GTS 512 for more.
So PP is correct im not interested in eather. I may get a 8800 GTX later on when they have like 10 series lol, but theres no way im paying over 300$ for one.

If your going to pay for an 8800GTX then you might as well get the 9800GTX. It would be retarded not to.

So more of a collectors thing. So why not get an Ultra? I wish i had an 8800Ultra and 5800ultra.

I dont want a Ultra because the design is different, and I prefer the graphic thats put on the XFX GTX.
