Alright, so I brought my computer back from the dead. Turns out it was a bent pin on the CPU socket. I got bored today and was bending it around to see if it could get it to be identical with the rest of them and I did. so its working. Turns out my previous computer was a dell so I had the Dell windows xp install disk and cd key that I had stored before I moved. I figured I could just install the disk and no problem, but theres my first mistake. long story short I got the cd installed using a different computer that was a dell and when I placed the hdd in my computer it gave me this BSOD error 0x0000007B. I have no idea what it means or how to fix it. but Im so close to finally being able to use windows again (ive been forced to use macs for 8 months because of my pc dieing. Personally i dislike macs, because there are NO good games for them). Can i get some help please? im hoping someone has some expertise in this certain problem and that its a simple one. i would just like to be able to use my own computer instead of someones else

You will have to call Dell and tell them you upgraded your hard ware, but i doubt they will let you use it on another pc. It will not install on another pc because they make it so it detects all of your components. This is to keep people from using it on other computers.

Thats complete BS. Well, looks like i have to go waste ALL my money on an OS, now even though I will get the OS and i wont be able to use the internet or anything because i need a wireless adapter. everything is just stopping me from using my comp.

Hmm you can always download a "master disc" for a 32 bit windows vista install off the net, its a 30 day use till activation. You can either reinstall it after 30 days or buy an activation code or .........not something legal.
