I'm hoping someone can help me with some new/wacky ideas/sugesstions to get sound working on my xfx 680i LT. I've read one other message about a similar problem, and the suggestion, which was to download the new vista64 drivers from Realtek do not help. The problem is, is that in Windows XP32, sound runs and shows up fine. In Vista64, the realtek control panel installs, and it even detects when I plug/unplug the speaker plug into the jack. I even looked and made sure front audio port detection (or whatver that option is in realtek audio manager) is disabled. So i've tried all the standard tech things, still no sound. I have an xfx 680i LT with an Intel Core 2 duo e8400 with 2 corsair matched sticks totaling 2gigs. Also have a nice samsung syncmaster 2232bw widescreen 22". Now, if only I can get the sound to work, I will be jumping for joy. Hopefully this post will get at least a couple of replies with different suggestions. I could use the help! Will be appreciated:icon_tiphat:

Are you dual-booting XP and Vista?

this may sounds a bit obvious but did you make sure that the audio is not as mute or sound level is not set at too low?

Yes, yes i have fiddled with volume levels, sound properties,etc.......etc.. all the obvious things.. BTW THIS IS THE ONBOARD Realtek High Definition Audio that is part of the XFX 680i LT

I had something similar back in November but a simple update to the drivers worked for me. When I was trouble shooting though, I came across the following potential issues:
1. System kept defaulting to analog after update. Changed to digital and all is well.
2. Signed x64 drivers-only. Without, some people had no sound.

I messed around with mine last night until the tornado sirens went off.:ahhhhh: I did manage to get mine to not work but every time I just reinstalled the drivers and was back up and running. The only thing I can think of is I was too lazy to go to the Realtek site and just downloaded the drivers from xfx support. Not sure if there is a difference between the two.

Ok everyone. Forgive me. I had it in the wrong jack on the MB. I had it plugged into the black jack instead of the green.. D'oh! Sound works perfect now.

Thanks All
