Im gonna be reformatting. Dont no whether i should keep Vista or not.
The XP disc i have, when i install the max HD that can be detected is 137GB, and my drive is 500. So i will have 2 partitions which i dont like. Only downside of XP.

I beleive that thats only if you dont have SP1. If you update it it should show all 500 gigs.
You know you can change that.
Yea ive seen all of that stuff where you can have a custom pic there too but id rather have MS do it for me.

You don't need to use any custom themes to change the appearance and color of the desktop in XP.
And yes a HDD only showing as 137GB is fixed in SP1.

Yea Darkorb just use nLite to integrate SP3 into XP and you should be good.

I haven't noticed any changes either, but it does seem a little faster.

MS just released the final RTM version Tuesday. You're using an older RC2 version which should be uninstalled before you install the final.

You may not know but SP3 Retail (RTM) was available on Windows update much before than MS's official release.I'm using the final retail SP3 (316MB) which i've downloaded from windows update 2 weeks ago whch is same as the version MS has released on Tuesday.
Here's (http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/software/svpk/2008/04/windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu_c81472f7eeea2eca421e116cd4c03e2300ebfde4.exe) the direct download link of the final retail version which has been released by MS on windows update 2 weeks ago.You must have stopped the XP's Automatic update ; otherwise you would know that. ;)

I didn't know that. When you mentioned that you installed it long ago, I just assumed you had an older version. I should of known better........you're usually on top of things. As the saying goes......."Never assume"

You probably wont notice any difference because its just the SP2c they where talking about to extend XP to produce more keys. They probably just added a few more updates that youd get from Windows Update after SP2 was released.

I've heard that there are already issues with SP3 concerning continuous reboots. Anyone had that problem yet?

The only error I've seen with SP3 across about 10 installs is if you slipstream it like I did then you might not be able to install some drivers.
Specifically on board sound is what I ran into, and a Yoggie gatekeeper Pico security stick.
If you run into it you can reinstall SP2, install the drivers then install the standalone SP3 and it's worked every time so far. As far as installing new drivers under SP3 the jury is still out since I found the work around.
ew... yoggie sticks :(
after reading two reviews i decided i would rather take my chances without any security on my system then try to deal with a yoggiefied system.
