Formatting with XP

I am reformatting my machine, and thought i would give XP one more go.

Although as i am done installed/formatting and my computer restarts, everytime it says "Error loading operating system"

I have 2 drives, 500gb and 250gb, but only the 500 is plugged in. Any ideas?

I would try my Vista disk but it is at a friends.

Have you ever had this issue when installing XP on this 500GB HDD?

Does the BIOS show the HDD as 500GB?

Load up your WindowsXP setup disc and enter tthe recovery console and try either the "fixboot" or "fixmbr" command.


This issue may occur if your computer BIOS does not correctly manage or support the capacity of the hard disk on which you are installing Windows XP.
