So I decided i needed a new PSU to power my new 9800gtx:lol:
I think i have it narrowed down to a couple PSU, But I need some advice on this one.
Here is what I am thinking about grabing right now, The price is great. (Im looking to keep it under 180- If you have any suggestion toss em out there.) Some input on this PSU would be great though. I couldn't find many reviews on it.

Considering this one too,

Possible this one aswell, not sure on what side the cable on it come out of the housing though, trying to keep it to the right side for better cable management in the case.

Thanks guys.

I vote for the PC Power & Cooling psu.
Not sure how you define sides on a psu. But here is a somewhat bad picture but gets the job done:

The cables come out on the side directly opposite of the power socket.

All 3 are good choices, Pc Power and Cooling is second to none though but it features an 80mm fan which isn't an issue if you don't mind a little noise when it reaches higher voltages.
The OCZ gamestream is a good solid power supply but the fans tend to cr@p out before the PSU itself making an intermittent really weird noise before they go. Not many units do that.
Of the two the Pc Power and Cooling is the best choice for longevity and stable power. Less than 1% ripple at full out put, rock solid voltage, kinda fugly but does what it's supposed to.

PCP&C are made for quality not looks thogh. But hands down on that one. You can also SLI 9800GTXs with the quad PCI-E cables.

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad would be the best choice among them for sure. :) Wish if it would be modular though. ;)

OK, so I am going for the PC power & cooling i think. One question though, Does anyone know if its a bad idea to mount a PSU "upside down" I.E. "the bottom up" so as to keep the cableing up against the back panel of the case?
I am need of a PSU with this exact cable alignment or the ability to flip it over so the cables sit this way. othwise The PSU cables end up everywhere.

(thats the silverstone)
Aslong as i can flip the s PcP&C over to mount it, it should work perfectly;-)
PCP&C Quad 750 is the best bet, it probaly has the best performance/quality/price ratio around, and newegg has it for $119.

PCP&C is my choice as well. However, OCZ and PCP&C are now OCZ (been like that for a little bit now) since NCZ bought out PCP&C. I have a gamexstream awhile back and it was great. I am moving to a modular Antec soon i think.... but thats only cause im poor and they have a good deal for $80 AR for a 650watt one.

Theres no problem with flipping it to answer your question but the holes wont align properly. Also to Joz, he lives in Canada so he cant order from Newegg.
Huynhc, OCZ owns them yes but PCP@C still are in charge of their PSUs. Actualy, OCZ have been putting some of their tech in their own PSUs. So basicaly if you want a modular PCP@C then get a newer OCZ.

oh yea i know that. but for all intents are purposes OCZ is the owner. However, I think OCZ is an awesome company in itself so no loss here.

OCZ and PCP@C did what Dell and Alienware did. OCZ bought the name but they still run under their own jurisdiction.

WOW dude! whats with all the low wattage PSU you linked too? I am currently running a mushkin 580ap, i guess i should toss that out there. Im looking to go for 850w PSU but I will settle for something a lil less if i can get that PcP&C twisted into place:lol:

If your worried about cable management then you should have went with a modular PSU.

My current nightmare is a modular one... Modular wont help any if the main 12v power cable is in the wrong position... they are never modular!
watts arent as important as Amps.
High amps = good
high watts = novelty
tyle how long have you been into computers, exactly?

Long time, thats why i grabed the 70a @ 90V PSU dude. you bother to read the silverstones specs.? It blows everything else posted out of the water.
Not to mention you posted a link to that Failomax, oops i mean the enermax failure, or was that an enermax liberty? those things have a 50%+ failure rate from about every review out there... how long you been in PCs?
P.S. just to answer you question i have been into PCs for over 10 years dude. How about yourself?

great unlucky number.
70a @ 90V

Here i will cut and paste it for you...
Max. DC Output 850W continuous at 50°C & 90V
(1050W continuous at 25°C & 90V)
combined +12V 70A/840W
So seeing as it can produce 850w of output at 50°C & 90V and produces 70a combined on the +12v at only 840w. Yes, it can pump out a solid 70a @ 850watts.
And this is all continuous power not peak like the OCZ is actually rated in.
My only fear with this PSU is i have heard it can be pretty noisy, hope its not too bad.

OK, see how the "b" is a lower case b... this means bits not bytes. theres 8 bits in a byte. Do the math then look at the numbers guys....

Not only that but that site also tells you your average download speed near the bottom. What you would really get. Those speeds are only your connection speeds.
While torrenting i get 503/165. Usualy its about 700k connection. My average download while nobody is on doing anything is about 80-90k/s.

Yea i can get 2 mb/ps if i get a good server.
I can get about 250-300kb of limewire for multiple file downloads, and about 200-230 for uploads (worse ive ever gotten was about 100 and 30 respectively.)

Seems like this thread is a little off track. But to comment on flippling it...I have an Antec 900 and have the pcpower 750w quad flipped and the holes line up properly to secure the psu to the case. It works fine on the Antec 900 - just depends upon your case.

Yea, I went with the silverstone anyways. I think its the right orientation:smile:
I have a CM690 and it also has the mouting hole for either orientation, thus why i asked if it was a good idea to flip a PSU for a long time. Hopefully i dont have to flip the silverstone, But if i do i know i should be able to mount it fine!

Well still answering your question its fine to flip a PSU. Whether the mounting holes line up right or not.
