The oldest component still in use in my pc : PCP&C TC 1KW or Lite-On IDE cd-rw/dvd-r drive.
The oldest component on my desk: Packard Bell Keyboard model 5130.
yea, that keyboard is old school. I had to sacrifice Pause/Break key to fix the O-key.

My oldest is my optical microsoft intellimouse (black) about 8 months old...
All my other components range from 1 week old to 1 month old....
Oops I forgot about my other LCD monitor 19" non-widescreen it's a year old.
I change hardware so much it doesn't have a chance to get old.....

My oldest components are my "lame" wired Microsoft Keyboard (damn...I've got to buy a new keyboard soon...;-)) and also my CoolerMaster Hyper 6+ CPU Cooler, which currently air-cools my E6600 CPU. It's not "that" old, but I remember I started using it on my AMD Barton 2500+ CPU, then re-used it on my AMD X2 3800+, and currently using it on my Intel E6600 CPU.
Good thing I kept the different mounting bracket for both 939 and 775 sockets.
Anyway, I can say I've quite satisfied with my Hyper 6+ CPU Cooler and I don't think I'm gonna upgrade it in the near future and further more, I'll probably be using it to cool down my next CPU, which is probably gonnna be a Q6600. ;-)

I would say it's my 1541 floppy disk drive for the Commodore 64. :)
But I only have about 40 more floppies to copy/turn into .c64 files, then I'm done with it and will have to find a use for it. :)
You'd expect such a classic computer to sell for more than that on eBay wouldn't you? ;-)

Yep, definitely!
What a classic!!! Commodore 64 definitely belongs to the museum. It's great that you still own such a piece of history. ;-)
Too bad I didn't keep mine...it went to the garbage a few years ago (it didn't work, and my parents throw it away, since it was stored in their appartment)

Was an old Sony Trinitron 17 inch flat screen (1996). Now it is a pair of WD 200GB PATA drives (2002), I cannibalized from my old RAID 1 setup, in external cases serving as backups. I am going to have to replace them soon.

I still have and use an old tactical AT Keyboard (circa 1995-1996) that I put a PS2 adaptor. This is one of the first keyboards with the Windows keys and it still works great.
I just got rid of an old AT/ATX Full Tower Case. I got this case when the ATX standard was first coming out. I got this because I was running SCSI in my system and 10K Full Height 3.5" SCSI drives run extremely hot. I was running 4 IBM 18.5 GB HD, Toshiba 32X CDRom and a Plextor 6X CD-RW with an Adaptec 3940UW Controller.
I have a foot locker full of old parts. Ensonic sound cards, 10-base NICs with BNC connectors, Old AGP video cards, 100 Meg IDE Zip Drives, 3 or 4 ABIT Slot 1 Motherboards with CPUs, etc.

9 pin serial "Chic" trackball circa 1998. Still fire it up for non PS2 dinosaurs that come through.
That or the Trident 1meg pci video card I use for testing. Got some ISA cards but their not in daily use.

My Microtech Slimscan that uses a parallel port. Had it for a very long time. Heck I think it came from an old Patriot system from a friend of mine way back when.

Probably my Samsung 120GB IDE Hard Drive. Has served me a good 5 years so far and was transplanted from each of my upgrades. It is the only piece of hardware that survived from my compaq OEM computer with an XP2800+ in it.
Still as solid as the first day I used it.

Now that I think about it, would “me” count? I used an Atari 800 with PaperClip (I think) back in the early 80’s. Since I am still using computers now, wouldn’t I technically be the “oldest” component?
