Hi, first I'd just like to say this is a great site, I found it from reading reviews and was surprised to see a XFX support forum. Now on to my dilemma. This is basically a copy of my support ticket that I sent a couple hours ago to XFX, so I hope someone here can help me.

Specs:

Athlon X2 4600+
Asus M2N32 SLI DELUXE
OCZ 2 x 1gb PC2 7200 Platinum sli ready
Corsair VX450
(Also tested with my radeon 1950pro)

If I'm missing anything please let me know.

My GTS 512 has been working for the last few days in system with a fresh windows install. Then today, all of a sudden it wouldn`t post and gives me the error beep code (1 long and 3 short beeps) indicating a graphics card issue.

So take into consideration that the system has been working for a few days. Before installing the 8800gts, the same system had been used for almost a year without incident with a different gpu. An exception is the Corsair PSU which was added a month ago.

First I updated the bios to one from January 08 as I realized it was running on a version from July 07. Nothing changed, problem still there.

I then reverted back to my radeon 1950pro and it ran fine.

I tried swapping a different set of ram that I had with different settings, no change. So other than being able to narrow down that the 8800gts is probably causing a problem, I have no clue what it is as the system doesn`t post anymore.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it. Hate to lose a new card after like 3 days!

The best thing to do when you have a problem with a video card is to try it in multiple systems. Since your 1950 is working in the same system I would have to assume that the card is at fault but would still try the card in another system just to be positive by replicating the issue. Can you PM me your ticket number?

I want to try the card in another system too but I don't know anyone in my area with a PSU and board that I could work with. Maybe I'll call up some comp stores in my area.
