Except this time Nvidia is to blame. Ive had no problem installing either XP or Vista on this laptop except i cant get the ethernet (wired) to work. Yes ive tried differnt nForce packages from various sites and still nothing. Any ideas? Here are the specs

Compaq Presario f768wm

15.4" screen
AMD Turion X2
1gig DDR2
Geforce 7000m
nForce 560 chipset

I know it uses an Nvidia chip like any other Nvidia chipset/board becasue i looked at it and figured downloading drivers from Nvidia would be fine. Guessed wrong, and Compaq/HP dosent have ANY wired ethernet drivers or chipset drivers. ARG i hate pre-builts.

For Vista: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3692016&lang=en

(prob work on xp as well)

The easiest way to tell what wireless module it is, if its not showing up in task manager, is to pop open an access panel and look at the thing itself. Worked for my acer when I had to "REMOVE" Vista for XP.

Apparently you wernt paying attention when i said wired ethernet. Yea, first one there on that list of wireless is the one for this laptop. Works like a charm, but the wired ethernet comes with the nForce drivers. Lucky me i found a nifty site http://www.driverpacks.net/ and they had a file that contained the drivers i needed and alot more that i will probably use in the future.
