This thing is so huge it doesnt even go in your case lol. Plus it can run 3 computers at once.

Probably not intended for the desktop user. From some of the things im reading you dont get 2000watt out of it anyways. Or something. Meh.

I predict the day will come almost all power supplies will be external similar to the one in this thread. I think you will see cases with the wiring for fans, motherboards, and other auxillary goodies actually hidden within the case and only a connector exiting in the proximity of the item it is going to power. You'll simply plug your PSU into the three voltage inputs (12V, 5V, 3.3V) in the back of your case.

This type of setup may not appeal to the major modders as they may be a bit more limited in what they can do, but it will greatly enhance the looks and efficiency of the rig.

I'll stick with my Tagan 1100 Watt modular and Hurricane 1200 Watt. Under testing they both held the line with good clean voltage running under 3% variation on any rail.

If one of those goes belly up I'll slide the Tagan 700 Watt back in.

2000 Watt maybe around the year "never" will you actually need that much power.

Yea and back when they used 200 watts said youd never need 500. Back when we used 1gig they said we would never need 3gig.....You catch my drift.

I am pretty sure that if I was able to draw that amount that the circuit will be tripped in the house. My girlfriends 1800 watt hairdryer does that if she forgets to turn off the A/C that is plugged into the same circuit. If we ever have to start needing this much power then you would have to get a custom circuit in your home to run your PC(s).

The idea of a PSU outside the case is a good one. It is used in consoles and allows them to be smaller and require less cooling, though the manufacturer *cough microsoft cough* still could use better cooling.

The point of my other thread exactly lol.

Idk bout yall, but i put a 30amp breaker on my room alone :D I run alot of things here. Gonna have to cut that down to a bare minimum pretty soon.

Ive ran my 1 KW PSU, a 360, 20' CRT TV, 800 watt PSU, 2 550 watt PSU's, 3 LCD's, and 2 CRT's all on a 20 amp breaker lol. I think i was mighty close to tripping it.

Probably not. Depends on how much load you where drawing from each machine. I put a 30 just so it would never trip. Our PA equipment requires 2 30s though and another 20 for our lights.

All of them drew more than half of the rated wattage.

Youd have to be doing like 3dmark on each of them though at the same time to pull all that power. Ive ran 6 computers before all gaming hard on a single 30 and it didnt even get warm.

We were all playing COD4 maxed, v-sync off.
