View Full Version : $50 rebate on 9800 gtx's at Newegg.

I was on Newegg last nite and noticed that there was a $50 rebate on a couple of their XFX 9800 gtx's.

I'm seriously considering getting another one to match the one I have now but it expires at the end of this month.

9800GTX is so cheap for its name. It's like you won't believe it until you see its benchmark.

Unless the cards released in June are going to be extremely expensive I don't see anyone making the jump to this card when you can get the 8800GT or GTS so cheap. For $300 I could get two 8800GT's and run SLI.

Nice rebate, but the 9800's are still too much for me. Kudos to those that take the plunge though! $50 off is still $50 off :P

well this just pi**es me off! :ahhhhh:
I checked last night and they were out of stock on both cards but the rebate still showed up.
Now tonight I check again and they have the cards but the rebate is gone when it said it was going on until the 31st of this month.
Zipzoomfly had the same card at about the same price but last night when i checked it said it expired the 26th but tonight I look and the webpage says it's good until the 31st while the rebate form still says the 26th.
I wish they would make up their minds ! :rotfl:
It definitely beats the pants off of my old 7800 gtx's.

The old bait and switch. Maybe it was just a mistake on the website and they took the rebates down by accident. You may still be able to find a link to the PDF or you could call/email customer service and see if they can help.

I emailed ZipZoomFly about their rebate thing and haven't heard nothing from them.
Newegg's page for those cards still show no sign of a rebate. Oh well!

both sites have a rebate section to browse for current and expired rebates and you can save the pdf if needed.

I dont like zipzoomfly as far as rebates go.

Yeah I looked and both show up as past date.
Now the Newegg site says it was the 27th instead of the 31st it expires.
I checked a few of the other sites (Tigerdirect, etc) and they'd had a rebate on the same card too.
Looks like it will be awhile before the price comes down again.
