For all the criticism of Microsoft and its security flaws, the software giant has made an impressive turnaround. While Vista has been derided for a variety of reasons, most would agree that it’s much more secure than Windows XP. Recently, a hacker conference showed just how vulnerable systems running Mac OS X are, due to their slow rate of patches. The Mac machine was hijacked within 10 minutes, while the Linux and Windows boxes survived the day.
Now an even worse security flaw has been found in some of the basic code used by a wide variety of Linux security programs. The error originated back in May 2006 when workers on the open-source security project committed a grave and unrealized error.

MAC owned. But no matter how much you try and find ways to make something hacker proof, hackers will never stop hacking it.

Thank sushrukh. This is some info that I need for a major project that I am stating for work next week. I have been working as an IT project manager for the past 3 1/2 years and have just been assigned to do an engineering project as it appears that I am the only person in my departement who has any experience with linux. This will force me to do some more security testing before I make my final report.
I LOVE BEING A TECHIE AGAIN!!!!

Its always been that way, nobody wanted to admit it. Specialy Mac owners. The fluke on Mac vs PC video has a point. Not really much to hack for lol.

More like not many to hack lol. What do they have 1, 2% of the market? Not a very big margin.

Last I read Macs were accounting for over 8% of the desktop market. 10% is generally accepted as the "magic" number whereupon spyware, adware and the rest will start targeting the platform. Supposedly this was also the point at which FireFox was targeted.

I haven't had any issues with Firefox either but I run NoScript and Ad Blocker Plus which I hope is helping to keep me safe.
