Hi , I have this old card in my old system its seems to be working fine for most of my games but oddly in specific games it just stop displaying and the screen black out with a bit of dark-white flashing per seconds , i'm hopeful because the game seems to be running and i could still hear the music from the game intro ... but dead Display:ahhhhh:!!

The games aint working are ... Down of war : DC , brother in arms And all the Steam games collection !! infact even Biaoshock this heavy game works like a charm in this old specs ... but i just dont get it !!

Solutions Tested :

1 - re-installed the games over and over .
2 - re-patched all of the games .
3 - updated the latest driver for the GPU.

Results : nothingness.

So ... I reallllllllly Would Appreciated if anyone gave me a hand with this.:help::redface:

Sounds like your graphics card is overheating and artifacts. Try down clocking it and see if that fixes it. If it does then you have a defective card.

You can then get a new one or just play on the down clock. Im not familiar with any ATI card manufacturers but you may be able to RMA it.

Not really , maybe artifacted . Though it works well in other mobos ... i forgot to mention my mobo has a buitl-in GPU and i couldnt disable it so that could be the problem. but whats weird is some games works fine with the GPU but other dont.;-)

You should have a option in your bios to select PEG as your main video adapter. That should fix the problem if your card is conflicting with the onboard video.

Yes, always disable onboard video in the BIOS before using a dedicated card. I have the exact same card in a Sapphire brand. I am using a free utility called ATI Tool to adjust the fan speed thresholds though, which were set very poorly at their default. You can also use the Scan for Artifacts feature in ATI Tool to look for artifact problems. One other thing I did was cut the grills out of my case where the intake and exhaust fans sit. Since that and the changes in fan threshold speeds my GPU temps have gone way down from about 73C to 60C.
