I want to see if 3DMark recognizes SLI potentials. Next I'm going to run some Crysis and see what is really up with SLI. I did notice significant improvements in Crysis performance when I went from intel e6700 to intel q9450, it was crazy. Also I want to see what's going on with online gaming. I'm going to run Age of Conan, Lord of the Rings, and Vanguard topped out to see if there's any lagging. I am limited to 1600x resolutions on dual monitors but that's high enough for me. Sooner or later I'm going to pop in an E-MU 1616 PCI Sound solution as well, just so I can have even better recordings (my drum and bass projects).
Honestly, I have been wanting to see SLI for myself on 8 series. I managed to get ahold of the MSI card for cheap and it took some justifying and soulsearching in order to decide on picking up another card. I heard the arguments over the 9 series but, honestly, I'm not seeing that much improvement over the 8 series. I'm not going to fork over the money required for quad SLI and the 8800gt has more horsepower to the wheels than the 9600gt. Bottom line-- sure, I would love to own SLI 9800 gtx or 9800 gx2 but the cost performance ratio is not evident for a choice like that. Not rich enough or sponsered so the 9 series is a none option.
