No, it only works with the Galaxy 9600GSO Overclocked Edition.

well, from what i read it was only with a certain brand that had the available memory to unlock... this is the exact card they seem to be taking about once you translate the original page linked too in PP's arcticle. Just not sure if they differ from region to region. Seems to be a chinese page. but that is the factory overclocked with the exact same clocks as in the chart from the original page.

Hm well that sucks.
Edit: Does anybody know how a real stock 9600GSO performs? Might just get one cause they are cheap.

I bet you could softmod one of those. Losing some ram but the gain in shader/clock performance would be better.

They may have put some together using leftover 8800GTS cards and simply disabled the extra memory and stream processors.

Not sure if the softmod would work on a 9600GSO that has 768MB of onboard memory.

They are the same as a 8800 GS which can be OC'd to 8800GT levels.

Like all of the 9 series cards, the 9600GSO is just a rebadged/recycled 8800GS.
