Eno, and a GTO.

Old 5.7.

This is the 6.0 Monaro, AKA Pontiac GTO. Brian Eno "This" is playing too. Also, I am working on getting the 2 sport gauges on the dash as having no Volts is annoying.

And if you want to argue, don't, the GT500 Mustang got 1.30 on their track, the GTO 1.30.1.

I suppose your talking cars. Because the two best things in the world to me are:

My better half
My kids

For inanimate objects

My Computer
My House

Now I did have a Dodge Super Bee I was quite fond of, 426 Hemi Hillside fuel injection, positrack brass gear racing rear end, Hillside blower, Hearst Slapstick 4 speed manual tranny, 3/4 experimental cam, Craiger chrome reverse mags, hood pins, saddle tanks, competition orange with the big black Super Bee Stripes and emblems.

Consistently ran in the mid to lower 11 second range in the 1/4 mile without the blower. Translated that means 112-118 in the quarter. With the blower you could hit it at 80 and put a $20 dollar bill against the seat with the windows down and not be able to peel the bill off the seat without ripping it I used to earn my gas money that way. Speedo topped out at 140 and it'd bury that.

It almost buried my brother so I sold it to a stock car racer.

From it I went to a 69 GTO with a 400 small block setting on a chevelle frame that was quite nice. Eventually I discovered computers were less likely to cause a fatality and almost as much fun.

I have to make it The 3 Best Things in my Life

1. My Wife
2. My Kids (1 Girl & 2 Boys)
3. My Grandbaby

Yes I am old, but not that old....... :icon_tiphat:

I am not saying that I don't love cars. Here are my favorites

1965 Ford Falcon (a wolf in sheeps clothing) same chasis as a 65 Mustang
1969 Mercury Montego 351W (One of the cars I wish that I still had)
1973 Dodge Cornet w/Police & Taxi package (transplanted a T/A 340 (i.e. 6pack) under the hood)
1980 Pinto (what can I say)
1983 Pontiac Grand Prix (305 4bbl)
1983 Chevy Camaro (305HP, Crane Cam, Headman Headers, Edelbrock RPM intake, Carter Carb, Mallory High Fire ignition)

Well unfortunately youtube is blocked at work so I can't watch. I wouldn't doubt the GT500 would lose on a road course to the GTO, but it'll beat it in the 1/4 mile :)

And the Corvette ZR-1 would whip em both in any race. :dielaffin:

GT500 1/4mile is high 12s, GTO is 13 flat.

OK, and like I said...The GT500 is faster in the quarter mile.

Depending on what GT500 were talking about here.

Umm, any of the new GT500s will beat the newer GTO (stock) in the 1/4 mile, though I don't think the 67 GT500's will.

Ahaha the older GT500s with 427's + will make mince meat of the newer POS's. Ive seen a 69 GT500 with a 429 and Holley double pumpers do 9s.

In a strait line the old 60s GT500 will own a GTO, on the track, the GTO will come out in the lead. The new GT500 will be close to a GTO in a line, and close to a GTO on the track.

ITs cause the older ones have more torque. Ive noticed newer vehicles have alot more high end power and the older muslce cars have low end power.

It is not that they have more torque, they just feel so much torquier because of the lower revs.

I'm talking stock....look I would rather have one of the original GT500's (would actually rather own a 70 Boss 302 TBH) but the newer ones are faster stock from the factory than the older ones, thats a fact and its not really a surprise. But if you want to talk modding, then mod a newer GT500 and it will toast an older one....but I personally would still rather have the old one heh

Depending on where you got it a 68 GT500KR with a 428 Cobra Jet came stock with Holley double pumpers and a Paxton Supercharger ranging over 500hp.'

Of course the topic isnt about GT500s.

A real car is the Shelby Cobra with a 427. This car was known to do 0-100 and back to 0 in less than 13 sec. This car is about the size of an MG B and only weighed more because of its engine.

Try about 60k. Shelby Cobra with a 427That i agree the 67 GT500s had nice 427s but the 68 GT500KR with a 428CJ packed more punch and could come with a Paxton Supercharger. mmmm lol. I think personaly the 67 looked the best and sounds the best.

No, he is talking about the AC Shelby Cobra 427...not the Mustang Shelby...
