I recently download NVIDIA Monitor to see how hot my card is getting. I noticed that it would stay around 80-86 C and I know this can harm the card if not taken care of. Well i looked to see how it gets when im playing a game and it goes from 90-110 which obviously is a problem. I have looked for programs to help speed up the fan speed but it seems I cant. I was wondering what would be the best option for me to fix this problem.

What are you system specs and the video card in question? If you remove the system case cover does the temps drop at all?

Your PC seems old, I would just make sure there is no dust in it. Also, it being a dell the airflow might be messed up.

Make sure you have taken a can of compressed air and removed all the dust from inside the PC (With the PC off, of course). Especially the dust clogging the inside the CPU and graphics card heatsinks, that will likely help lower your GPU temps. That is really hot for just a 7600GS.

yeah my PC is pretty old lol but hey it still has life in it....well i think... But anyways i have cleaned the vents so the dust doesn't clog it. Ill make sure to buy a can so i can get that cleaned out. If it still seems to get hot what other things would you suggest.

Is that one of our passive cooled 7600GSes or an active cooled card? If it is passive than you are going to need sufficient airflow over the heatsink. You may think about a slot cooler or zip tying a fan near the card pointing at it to cool it down. The zip tie method may be hard with a Dell case. A lot of their models don't leave much room inside.
