Im getting all sorts of odd problems with this card whenever it runs in 3d modes.. The artifacts are best described as long black lines or triangles or 3d objects that are deformed. Here is a rather tame example but its often much worse.

The card is in a second pc and was bought just to allow this to run games but this is really annoying.
Any suggestions

two more images showing the other problems
the first shows the typical tearing of the textures on the 3d objects such as the gun and lines emiting from other 3d players.

the second shows the peculiar pools of red light that appear on the textures of the walls and floor and the tiny squares visible on the white wall and rocks?

Try some older/newer drivers. If that doesn't work underclock the card 10-15mhz and see if the problem goes away.

I would also recommend starting a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com as those screen shots do not look promising.

Lower it to 350-400 and also the VRAM.

Lower it to 350-400 and also the VRAM. Chances are the card is hosed though.

We do not have much control over RMAs outside of US and Canada but I will toss them an email to see if they can help out.

If you are not in North America, we can't really say. XFX support is other places is not really that great. North American support tries really hard to be the best, other places don't seem to care a lot of the time.

It looks like the Europe team have been on top of it. The first response was only 2 hours after you put the ticket in. It took a little longer for the second but they should be able to get your case handled. They will be back on Monday.

Yeah they got back to me by coincidence just after posting on here on fri evening though only to ask me to check the card in another machine which I had just done after borrowing the father in laws AGP machine and putting a 750w power supply in it.. Still no change though unfortunately but it gave me time to update his bios and drivers from the year dot  so he can now get his card working properly.. I'll wait and see what they say next week.
