hi everyone! :help:
I've bought this computer:
cpu intel core 2 quad q6600
motherb. asus p5n-e sli n650i
vga xfx 8800gt alpha dog xxx (already overclocked to 670mhz)
ram 4x1GB Corsair XMS2 (with heatstink)
hd seagate barracuda 750gb 7200rpm
cpu heatstink asus silent square evo
psu cooler master real power pro 620w
case atrix
the problem is that when I start the pc nothing is displayed on the screen and the motherboard makes a long beep followed by 3 short beeps
p.s. may it be that it is because the motherboard spacers aren't screwed well in the case because they didn't fit so good?
thank you so much and sorry for the bad english (I'm Italian )

Can you try the card in another system? That beep code usually means the boards isn't detecting a card. Since that is an SLI board you may also want to try the card in the other slot, if it supports that which I do not know if it does. or just reseating the card to make sure it gets a good connection in the slot. If the motherboard isn't seated right on the risers it could cause the card to sit cockeyed and cause the motherboard to not be able to communicate with the card.

I've screwed the spacers and connected hard disks, dvds with the sata cables and for two times the video card functioned, but now that I've plugged the molex cables in the power supply and connected to the case, floppy and fans doesn't function anymore.
I've tried also to extract the cable from the psu but nothing has changed...
Could it be that the card is compressed by too cables in the case? Or what else could be?
thanks!

To eliminate case grounding problems pull the board out of the case and connect nothing but the CPU/FAN one stick of ram and the 8800 then put the power supply to it.
Make sure it's on a piece of plastic or other non conductive surface. If that works then:
Inside the case make sure that the motherboard risers are seated correctly and there's no tension on the wires leading to any of the devices. Then make sure all the connectors are plugged correctly and solidly.
Avoid any thing touching the video card and make sure the Mobo is seated correctly on the risers. Some times it it's not level the card doesn't sit level and won't display video because it's not sitting right.

I did everything you said. I toke the motherboard out of the case, I placed it on my desk (wich is made of wood), plugged in the video card and plugged the motherboard, cpu and PCI-Express cables from the PSU.
It didn't function.
What else can I try?
P.S. Today I will try another card and try that card on another computer.
If you know something else that I can try, please tell me.

I tried with another card on the same slot and neither that did function. When I tried on the second slot in SLI mode, both cards did function, so I'm happy to say that the problem is the PCI-Express slot on the motherboard. now I want to change the motherboard with the Asus Striker II Formula!
XFX is the best!
thank you for the help! :-D
