I got the bundle a long time ago from tiger direct.

quad q6600
680i mobo
multiple ram
multiple video cards

No boot. No beeps. No video output. I've tried pci, pci e, dvi, vga, s vid. I've tried 5 or 6 different kinds of ram ranging from 256-8gb. I assumed my bios just needed to be updated for the quad. I had heard a lot of people had that issue with the older version of the 680 and quad. So I go out and buy a duo. Same freakin thing. No post. Fans spin up lights are on. I've tried this with 2 mobo's, same make/model. I've tried it with geforce 8400, 6300, a diamond s60 and a few other video cards. I'm am loosing my mind. Any ideas?

What is the model number of the Core 2 Duo you used? Did you use the same power supply with both boards? Do you have another system you can try all of those components in?

It is an E4700 2.6. The power supply is the one thing I haven't been able to switch out. I've tried every other piece on other sets and they all work just fine.

I wouldn't suspect the motherboard if you have tried two with the same results. Make sure you are testing outside of your card. Check the CPU socket to make sure there are no bent pins. If your heatsink uses a metal retention bracket make sure it is insulated. If both boards turn out to be faulty definitely replace the power supply as well as it is the most likely component to damage other components. Have you made a support ticket at http://www.xfxforce.com/web/support/supportCentral.jspa?

Both 4 of my 680i mobo - 2 x ECS (C00), 2 x EVGA (D00) BIOS were intant killed by the time I put on the QX6700 even with the latest P32 BIOS. They were repaired by external BIOS flashing tools. You need luck to get a good 680i mobo to cope with 65nm quad, since there are successful cases.

RMA your mobo.
