I built my new machine about a month ago and it hasn't gone as smoothly as I had planned. I have been getting BSODs atleast once a day and have yet to get this thing running for a straight 24 hours. At first I thought it was Vista being Vista but then I installed XP and although not as many BSOD's I still get them. Although they are almost completely random, I have noticed that they usually happen when my computer is either idle or I just wake it up from standby. I don't think it's ever happend while I'm gaming or using anything that might be hardware intensive.

After it reboots I usually get a checksum BIOS error or it just doesn't reboot at all. When it doesn't reboot I usually have to leave it alone for a few minutes then I turn it back on like nothing ever happend or have to fix something in the BIOS such as it can't read my A: (floppy) because I don't have one.

I have made sure all my memory timings and voltages are set to factory spec and have memtested them with no errors multiple times. I have used them seperately and booted on both of them with no problems so I'm pretty sure it's not my memory. I don't really have any extra components to swap in to rule other hardware out so I can't be positive. I have also installed all the latest drivers for my board, and have flashed the bios with the newest version. I have also cleared my CMOS which I did about an hour ago and haven't had any problems but an hour isn't long enough to diagnose this problem.

I just wanted to check if anyone has any other ideas before I RMA this board.

Try increasing the timings of the memory to 6-6-6-18 2T to see if the memory can handle the advertised settings. Most of the time when a system doesn't boot on restart it is because it was running in safe mode the first time it started up and then when it loads the stored settings they are too aggressive and it doesn't boot. Are you OCing your CPU at all? You can turn off the floppy detect error by going to Standard CMOS Features and setting Drive A to None.

i'm having the same issue and have tried the same resolutions without change. I even have mostly the same specs (4gb ballistix only diff). I ran without issue for about month and now keep getting BSODS, various types.

i'm going to try to find a PSU to swap out as that is only thing i haven't tried yet.
