Hi. I have STOP:0x00000124 when try to play.

XFX 9800 GTX XXX Edition (1 card)
1 SATA 1TB Drive SATA
1 DVD Drive SATA
1000W PSU
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 SP1
I have STOP: 0x00000124 when play Crysis (1.2.1) it hapend fast when AA is on, with AA off I can play 1 hour before I get this error.
i try different renders D9, D10, 32bit, 64bit all the same error.
My 9800GTX is OC in factory so you try push down to nvidia spec and get same STOP: 0x00000124 but I can see the BSOD on my PC, when the card is run on it default settings i don’t see BSOD after freeze only when I load Window it show what error is hapend.
I try Disaidle on board sound but this don’d help.
I see in post that XFX remove P05 bios from this site, for post P5P late.
I want ask, can P5P help me?
OCCT pass 1.5-2 hours with no problem.
Memtest86 and built in Vista memory test pass with no error.
I try many drivers for video: 174.40, 175.16, 175.70, 175.80 this don’t help.

I would say loosen the Memory timings. I could not get that memory to run stable at 6-5-5-20 2T (1.85v). Yes it would install and boot to windows, but if you run Mem Test or other memory test it will crash after a short period. Try loosening the memory at 7-7-7-20 2t 1.8v or 8-7-7-22 2t 1.7v.
Things to note: If you u are getting a BSOD then its probably a memory setting, if you are just Locking up in SLI when playing games or watching video then its probably a driver issue.

1 SATA 1TB Drive

The P05 is back up. The P5P is just for the 780i. Try loosening your memory timings up to 7-7-7-21 2T just to be sure they are stable at those speeds. Even if it lasted through a couple hours of Orthos it is still the best plase to start.
Right Click Computer and select Properties. Go to the Advanced Settings and select Settings under Startup and Recovery. Uncheck the Automatically Restart box under System Failure. This will allow you to read the blue screen when it happens.

I try losse timing for 8-8-8-20 v1.7
I try disable sound in mobo.
I have only 1 video card.
I pass all test in Memtest86 and OCCT with 6-5-5-18 v1.85 and with 8-8-8-20 v1.7.
I hane Silverstone ST1000 PSU.
If i run 9800gtx XXX on default settings (740/1850/1140) i never see BSOD only frezze then black screen then my monitor lose signal:( and when i load windows it dont say that i have any error.
If i losse in to nvidia defaul (657/1688/1100) i get frezze then bsod with 0x00000124.
I get last hot fix (Windows6.0-KB952681-x64), but it didnt help.
How can i test video card for stress + full load the mobo for transfer data from RAM to VRAM, maybe it help...?

I find solution, but is not still stable :(.
WDDM Timeout and Recovery
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\GraphicsDrivers\DCI\timeouts
I set this key from 7(default) to 20(32 in decimal).
Now i have stable crysis with no FSAA, when i On FSAA i get TDR error - Display Driver Stopped Responding (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=55537) error or just black screen again.
Dose his mean my card is bad or slow? Because it is not the normal conditions for this card.

Before I had this fix, my game keeps crashing. I monitor memory use and it always climbed and consumed all available physical RAM and followed by game crash. I doubt this is a hardware problem from the beginning. Vista x64 is very tricky OS before you install all SP1 fix.

What driver version are you using. There is no specific cause with this issue. It does come and go with different versions and overclocks.

As i say :) i try all drivers 174.xx to 175.xx, now i use 175.80.
And i downclock card.
And i get this after 30sec - 1 min from begin play with FSAAx16, the temp is 57C, this seem to be defect or something.

All the 175 versions are based off the first set. They only have very slight changes. It could be part of the reason for this issue continuing. Try some older drivers, may be a 169 series.
