Well i came home today and i had local only and no internet. The device manager says its all working but it says unidentifiable network and it stays on windows default IP instead of my ISP. I tried a ethernet card i had laying around and it worked i have internet fine with a pci ethernet card but not with on board ethernet. Any ideas? Also it has post issues with all FSB settings.
PS im on Vista prem.

With Internet hooked up open command prompt (cmd in "run) and type...
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
See if that helps.

It should only tell you that if the cable isn't connected to the onboard ethernet. Make sure that you have the cable plugged in to the board. There is a light that should come on when you put the cable in. This board has two ethernet ports. Did you try both? If you have the Network Access Manager installed than make sure you didn't accidentally enable Network Teaming or something like that. You may even uninstall it completely as a diagnostic practice. I would also try reinstalling the chipset drivers.

I have installed the latest chipset drivers i have tried both ethernet ports and the lights are on but it just says no media connected to local area network on both ports shows up in device manager as fine, i have disabled and reenabled them i have deleted the adapters and reinstalled and nothing works when i get home i will check the network access manger thing, but i had just shut it down and changed nothing when i booted the next morning it was like that i havent changed anything in like a month.
