To start here is what I have:
XFX 790i Ultra
Intel Q9450 Quad
2x BFG 8800 GTX OC
4GB Patriot DDR3 1333mhz
1200W Coolmax PSU
I have looked through the other threads on this forum, and tried some of the solutions listed inside, but none have worked for me yet.
Basically what happens is the board will post (goes to 7F, I hit F1, goes to FF) when there is no graphics card present.
When I put a graphics card in (and I have tried this with both cards, one card, all 3 different slots, etc) nothing comes up. The lights for stby power and mem power are on, and the one for main power flashes and the fans act like they are going to start turning, but then they stop.
I have checked all my connections and redone all of them a few times just to be certain. My 8pin ATX power is connected. I connect 2 6-pin PCI-E power cables to the card (note: I forgot to connect those one time and the board posted just like with no card plugged in except for the loud beeping telling me my card had no power).
In regards to some of the posts I have read through:
-I tried resetting the CMOS by both the jumper and the battery method.
-As mentioned, I tried all 3 slots on the board for the graphics card.
-My memory recommended voltage is 1.5v, which it appears is the default for the BIOS. (From what I see on other posts; I have not seen the BIOS myself obv)
I know the 8800's and PSU should be good because I had them in my previous system. The new components are the processor, board and memory.
If anyone has any suggestions I'll be more than happy to try them at this point. Thanks in advance for any help; and if there is anything I forgot to include in here that would be helpful to diagnosing and fixing this issue, let me know.
Edit: Swapped board out. New board posts consistently, but no video output.
