I wrote a ticket in Portuguese
ticket: 164147
my problem is:
the pc does not boot, beeps and only black screen
my motherboard is asus A8V-E SE pci express 1.0 16x
need help
any bios to fix it?

There isn't a BIOS workaround for the 8800GS yet. I am expecting one extremely soon. Have you checked with ASUS? The problem is with the motherboard itself. VIA chipset boards do not detect PCIE 2.0 cards. A permanent fix will have to come from VIA and the motherboard manufacturer. When I have a workaround for the 8800GS I will post to let everyone know it is available.

the newest bios is the year 2006, not released other new until now!! :(

I don't think it would be safe and I know it is not covered under the South America warranty. I am hoping it should be single digit days till I have something for that card. You will need another system that doesn't use a VIA chipset to be able to flash the card though. I would stay away from that mod.

You should email/call ASUS and say that you need a BIOS work around. They might have it, just not post it on the site.
