First off, did you select a location with your ticket, tickets sent in written not in English but sent into English support tend to get missplaced.
The 8800GS is not supported in that Mobo. Try to get a BIOS update from ASUS, if they don't have one see if you can replace your mobo. If not XFX can give you a BIOS work around for your card. You will need to find a PC that works PCI-e 2.0 (Any PCI-e 1.0 Mobo other then a VIA will work).

First off, do you have access to a personal computer that the graphic card will work in? PCI-e 2.0 or PCI-e 1.0 that is not a VIA chipset?
2nd, can you get a new Motherboard?
3rd, I am not sure if XFX made a BIOS work around yet, so you will need to talk to a tech.

Ok, so you can flash the card in his PC then move it to yours. I do not work for XFX so I can't get you the BIOS, I am sure a Tech will tell you whats up with the BIOS tomorrow.

There is a way to use it in that Mobo. Also, it is VIAs fault here, not ASUS and not XFX. Can you contact ASUS asking for a BIOS update that makes PCI-e 2.0 work? They might have one.

I am hoping to have a work around for this card very shortly. I will update when we have confirmed that we do have it. I made a note of your ticket personally so that I can send you the BIOS.

Wow, after that response I will never buy a ASUS motherboard. PCI-e 2.0 is backwards compatible with PCI-e 1.0, but they messed it up and it didn't work. They are to lazy to release a BIOS that fixes it. It is worth noting that some companies got the fix from VIA and made new BIOSs.

dont quiet get this.. I have an Asus board p5n32 pre which does not officially support pci 2 but those cards work fine in it.. Aren't they just supposed to be backward compatible.. Are you sure you have the latest mb Bios

VIA chipsets are cheap and it just doesn't work right.

I am sure by that moment you has discovered this the XFX 8800GS must be feed properly.
Possibly your system is compatible, but you need a power supply with enough power to use the card.
You will have to use a power supply like Antec, Corsair, Cooler Master, etc.
salu2.

Hi, I just replaced an A8V-E SE mother board with similar problems.
Check the board for Capacitors that are not flat on top but rather bulging and look like a can that has pressure built up inside.
If you have them this means the board is bad. There was once a batch of bad Caps on the market and Asus got a batch of them. Now you see on their MB boxes a a patch that says 100% Japan-made Solid Capacitors.
