View Full Version : I'm back!
I'm back! It took me almost two full days to get back home (44 hours). If you haven't been on a plane recently I advise you to not do so. Flying sucks especially when you're flying internationally. :-x
Anyway, I'm glad to be back and I'm happy to see our ranking going up. I still haven't looked at our stats yet but from the looks of it, it looks like we've stagnated. We'll have to change that. :)

How much of that time was actually spent in the air though?

Mmm international flights. Did you have to do a strip search and a cavity check? ;)
So do you still get free drinks on international flights?
That always helps a little.

About 17.5 hours. I had waits in Istanbul, Rome, and Amsterdam.

Yep. Atleast with the company I was flying with.
I just had some bad luck on my major flight back home from Amsterdam to San Francisco. A lady with a 5 month old baby was sitting next to me and she was pretty mean. I was nice to her and I helped her out with the baby and she cooled it a little. Despite the barf and spit I had all over my clothes from the baby, the flight wasn't THAT bad. It could have been much worse. At least the baby was cute.

Thats like a horrible nightmare for me right there.
If you mean the baby, it's not that bad. As long as the parents know what they're doing it's usually alright. In my case he was sleeping half the time. You can't control the spit and barf if you're holding the kid. ;)
Plus, kids in general seem to like me for some reason. I don't have any objections as long as it's within reason. They're usually smiling and laughing when I'm around so I never see the nasty side of things. lol

Thanks Zachig. ;-)
Hehehe... you're welcome! :icon_tiphat: I know how it feels like being in the air for a long time. In the last year or two I had few long-distance flights, mainly to Asia (China, Taiwan...) with 2 (or more) connections in which I've stayed 'in the air' more than 26 hours...:frown:

Yeah, I do.

That must have been a nightmare. 26 hours in the air would have killed me. :jawdrop:

Yeah, I do.

Actually, it wasn't in-a-row. The maximum I stayed in the air was 15 hours, but since I had once three flights in-a-raw, I've stayed in the air almost 30 (!!!) hours. But as you can see, like you, I SURVIVED!!!

Where at in the Bay Area are you? I'm all the way up in Marysville but spend at least 2 days a month in Dublin, next month it'll be 2 weeks.

I'm in Vallejo. It's about 35-40 minutes away from San Francisco. Dublin is south of Vallejo heading towards Alameda county. That area is pretty nice. :)
