Damn i got really bad VDROOP on this XFX 680i LT
Priming currently at 3ghz, 1.2875v in bios, 1.248 idle and 1.224load in CPU-Z
I tried 1.26 originally, but at load it went down to 1.208.
1.262 and 1.268v the comp just froze after 4 hours or so (screen was black and didnt come back from that)
FUll load 100% cores are at 54/51/46/50
Gonna be giving the Scythe Infinity to my bro and buying a Vendetta 2
the VID on the CPU is 1.2875 G0
SPP is 59C and MCP is 53C
Not sure what my voltag's are for mobo, they are still stock.
Tips?

The only thing I know that will fix the 680i LT is a hammer....lol. Seriously though the board is glitchy and many people have problems with stability with this board. Since your motherbaord is a little high temp wise on the northbridge and southbridge I would say you need better cooling in these areas before volting it up to have some stability with your OC. Also you will need to put more volts once you have hit around the 3ghz area on the cpu. Try 1.4 ghz and then back down to find the sweet spot. You should be able to hit at the very least 3.4 ghz stable with a Q6600 GO. Especially with a low stock vid like you have.

yeah thats what im gonna try, people said you can hit 3ghz with lower than stock volts so i tried tthat with no lucky. been going for 3 horus or so now on 1.2875volts. Once i get that stable at 3ghz, gonna swap on my other cooler when i get it for 3.4-3.6 hopefully

It takes about 1.2875 to get my Q6600 running stable at 3-3.2
It'll go higher I've had it to 3.6 but the voltage was hitting 1.4 for the extra 400 mhz so I profiled the 3.6 and the 3.2 and backed down to 3.2. No need to fry a chip for 400mhz, but it'll look good in benchies.

If Vdroop is a big concern its pretty easy to pencil mod the 680i..

Yeah
What is the max safe VOLTS for Q6600?
I no my AMD X2 S939 was 1.5-1.55,
but these newer chips iv heard is 1.4?

The more you want voltage, the less heat you need to have. Wait til you get the new cooler to go much higher.

Yeah, i just want to no what is the max on air you should go?
as i said, 1.5-1.55 was max for S939 time, what about now? 65nm chips.
And its gonna be below 60C full laod

I wouldn't go past 1.4V.

Alright thanks!

Yeah since your using air cooling I would not go past 1.5 at all. Determine your OC by your temps and once you got it in the spot where it is just under 60c under load then your good to go till you upgrade your cooling capabilities.
