I have an MSI K8M890M2-V mobo

I sent in my 7900 GT and it was recieved today by XFX. If XFX doesn't have 7900 GT in stock, and i am able to upgrade to an 8 series...would that not work with my mobo? and i don't have any other computers, so a bios upgrade won't work, i have the latest MSI bios, that was from 2006. so would i only be able to get a non PCI-E 2.0 card? What Am i going to upgrade to from my 7900 GT from RMA?

So, no PCI-E 2.0 (duh) 8800 GTS 320 would work? I hope XFX can upgrade me, if they have no more stock of 7900GT (those cards are faulty anyway)

The only cards that won't work is a 8800GT or a 8800GS. (That I have heard of) Newer cards that are PCI-e 2.0 will work in a VIA chipset though.

Tell them in your ticket that you have a VIA chipset that is PCI-e 1.0 and make sure you send a card that will work.

I would also PM a tech on this forum with the ticket number and your story.
