Ok guys we need to keep pushing this thing higher and higher. We actually got a NVIDIA reference card for the first time in 3 years. I was told it is because our readership is coming up. Well they only see Alexa so we need to keep pushing it higher so we can get better stuff.
Come on guys AJ and Bjorn3D needs you.
We have much more potential than this because I know for a fact that all our active members are not using either the toolbar or add-on. According to the poll I did a while back, only about half of our active members use the services. The other half either had problems with FF or just plainly hate IE so much that they didn't install it.
I could understand the FF users that tried and had problems. But the other members that simply won't install the toolbar because they have a grudge against an internet browser?! :???:
We're really not asking much. It won't hurt if you browse Bjorn3d for 30 minutes each day on IE. Really, it's not that bad. The Bjorn3d staff work their butts off providing quality reviews on a weekly basis. Not only that, they also hold several contests each month with excellent prizes which all of you happily partake in. The least you can do is show your appreciation by doing something that's completely free and doesn't take up any of your extra time.
Sheesh, some people just need an excuse!
Anyway, enough of my ranting. I think the next step we could take is to offer incentives for people to use the the toolbar or add-on. But you would first need to find a tool or a way to keep track of the users by IP. But even then, I don't know if we'll be moving forward or backward. People should do it for the love of the site, not for the prizes.
It's kind of sad that something so simple and easy to do isn't done for what most of the time is a minute reason. :frown:

I installed alexa on all 5 pcs in my house, also my mom's and bro's rig. I'm doing my part, plus I find its an interesting plugin for checking out webs sites.

Does it only do that when you visit Bjorn3d? I've had similar problems before so I downloaded FF and then downloaded IE 7 from there. I did a fresh install and everything worked fine afterwards.
Although, it looks like you're running Vista. In that case the toolbar won't work with IE. You need to run FF. ;-)

I want to use the toolbar here at work but it is restricted through our proxy.
Can someone take the firefox installer and zip it up and post it here so I can grab it?
File is too big. You guys only allow 3.93MB files and when zipped the FF installer is 5.70MB.
I could email it to you if want.

A.J.
Can you email it to me at gregg.g@bjorn3d.com
I just emailed it to you. ;-)
Edit: It said it couldn't go through because "their system detected an illegal attachment."

fair enough AJ.
Try ggonsowski@gmail.com
Sent it again to the new address. Hopefully it'll go through this time. So far so good. :)
Edit: Failure again. :(
Your best bet is to save it to a flash drive and install it from there.

We're not asking you to keep IE as your primary browser. If you surf Bjorn3D for 2 minutes each day it would help us out. It's the easiest and most effective way to help.
As for alternative means of helping us out; you can always give us money. lol

The add-on for firefox is not a tool bar, it is a little icon on the bottom bar. It doesn't seem to place nice with other add-ons though.

OK I have the Alexa add-on running.
We'll see if it interferes with any other add-ons I'll be installing.

Nice!
We need to surf the site more guys! Alexa updated our traffic graphs today and it's not looking too good. Visit old threads, the homepage, articles, reviews, etc..
You'd be surprised how much one person can make a difference.
