Okay... so here is the situation:

I was having some problems with some graphical corruption and a continuing problem with SLI support functioning in things like Call of Duty 4 (Driver fails and then most of the time recovers but sometimes it does not).

So... I was having these memory issue problems and thought perhaps I should try dropping from the 4gb ram I have in there to just 2 gb ram to see if that would run a little more stable.

I removed 2 of the chips and left ram in slots A1 and A2 (blue slots). I then booted up and checked to see if everything went through. It told me the timing was off in the setup so I went in to check it out.

My ram: Corsair model CM2X1024-8500C5D (XMS2-8500 1024mb 1066MHz 5-5-5-15 2.2v ver 1.2)

I set the ram up to the prescribed settings as listed for my ram. Then I rebooted. This time I noticed it said "SLI Ready Memory Detected - Disabled". I thought, "Well hell, I should enable that". So I went back into the bios and set the SLI Ready setting to CPU 0%, saved and rebooted.

Instead of booting up it comes up with a "1d" error code on the Post Code display. The manual says that means "Early PM initialization". But I don't know what that means. I think, "Well damn... I guess it didn't like me setting the memory to SLI Ready 0%". So I power it down, turn off the power supply, remove the 2nd XFX 8800 GTS 512mb so I can get to the CMOS Reset jumper. Just to be sure, I pull the plug out of the back of the power supply. I then pull the blue jumper off the cmos reset (next to the bios chip) and put it onto jumper's 1&2 (1 being the one with the triangle next to it). I wait for about a minute and then pull the jumper and place it back on pins 2 & 3.

I plug in the power supply, turn it on, and then hit the power button... "1d" comes up again. So I follow all those steps again (I know, insanity to do the same thing over and over expecting a different result). Still the same thing happens.

Next time I try powering it down and I unplug the main power plug from the board as well just to make sure, "1d" again... I pull all but one stick of ram then try a reboot only to get a "C1" error (meaning: "Memory Presence - Base memory detect"). It gives me one very long beep and then a long pause then another very long beep.

I swap the one stick with each of the other 3 sticks I have one at a time resulting in a "C1" error every time. I try just two sticks in A1 and A2 again, "1d". I try all four sticks, "1d" again.

So... I think I followed the procedure correctly to reset the CMOS, but I guess something isn't going right somewhere. Any help would be great.

Power the system down and unplug the power supply completely. When the LEDs on the board go out pull the CMOS battery from the board. It is right next to the CMOS jumper. It should go pretty much instantly but wait 30 seconds and then put it back and plug your power supply back in. Try powering on with one stick in slot 0 or 1. If it gives you a 1D or C1 code than try another stick in the same slot. If it does the same thing than try each of those stick in the other memory channel, slot 2 or 3.
If you can't get the system to POST and are getting 1D or C1 than make a ticket at http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/Help/Support.aspx and PM me the ticket number.

I had completely unplugged the power supply and removed the cmos battery before I went to bed. I put it back in and powered it up with one stick in slot 1 resulting in a "C1". I then tried each of the other 3 sticks of ram in slot 1, all resulted in a "C1". After that I tried two sticks of ram (in the blue slots) and got a "1d" code. Then I tried just one stick in slots 2, 3, and 4. However, nothing worked.

I tried going to submit a support ticket and the website is still being "redesigned"... So I'm going to go look for the phone number and try to call.

As a side note, I tried NO sticks of ram and got an "F6" code. That code doesn't appear to be listed on the codes list, so I have no idea what that means.

The website has been up since yesterday afternoon. Some DNS servers take up to 24 hours to update so you should be able to access it very soon even if their last update was right before the site went up. The support is up and working fine now. As soon as you can get a ticket in PM it to me.

When i up dated the the bios of the mobo to p05 all the errors went away, however it did some how remove the validation liecence form my windows vista, but once validated everything seemed to work fine...

make sure your RAM is SLI ready ram. if it isn't, then don't turn on SLI ready RAM in the BIOS settings. could be a problem
