Can you have FF2 and 3 installed at the same time?

Not that I'm aware of.

Does it work with old add-ons?

Mine do. But then again, I don't have much. Not all old add-ons work.

When I go back to a System restore FF2 doesn't run at all.
I still have the old installer for FF2 if you want it. It's worth a shot to get you back up and running. Emailing the file won't work as I found out earlier with Gregg. The next easiest thing to do would be to either host it somewhere or we could get on messenger and I could transfer the file over to you.

I have the file but this scares me...
"Installing Firefox 2 in the same directory in which Firefox 3 has been installed may result in Firefox 2 being unstable (bug 423226)"
Well, you have nothing to lose. Give it a shot and see how it goes.

Ok, uninstall FF3 but don't check the "remove personal data". Then install the latest 2.0.
That should do the trick. Let us know how it goes. ;-)

I did it before I did that post, and it worked great, I did have to uninstall some add-ons and reinstall them as some updated to 3.0 versions.

I'll tell you that working as a webdeveloper is just getting more and more complicated. As I cannot have FF2 and FF3 installed at the same time I now have to install FF2 on one of my virtual PC's. I got two already with IE6 and IE8 (MS luckily supplies free VirtualPC images for them) but one of them also has FF1.5 on it ...
Trying to keep up and testing on all browsers is getting complciated.

I know how you feel SwedBear. I guess we'll just have to live with it. :frown:

I found FF3 is not that bad, you need to restart, don't try to run your FF2 add-ons in FF3, just redownload all new add-ons.

I dont use any adons on my pc, skins, or anything. I dont even use a cache and FF3 after i installed made my internet less responsive.

I am using it right now and I think it is faster then FF2 w/ ad-block on.

I think it could just be in my head though. Expecting it to be faster but its really not or something. Idk.

Come on, I hated it, I uninstalled it with-in 1 minute of installing it. But now that I use it it seems faster, even though I still use FF2 for everyday stuff. (Just messing in FF3)
