Every time I power on (using the motherboard's button), all the fans take a quarter turn and stop. Then, nothing happens. The only indicators I see are that a yellow light comes on ( besides the blue one).
What I have connected.
CPU, PSU (both power connections), 1 2G Ram, and a 8800gt. (also xfx).
I've tried unhooking and re-seating everything. I've used a separate stick of ram (both in several slots). I've tried the graphics card in several slots and not at all. I've also tried removing the battery and replacing it.
Error I probably made.
When I powered on the board for the first time, it worked. Then I quickly turned it off because I forgot to hook the monitor up. Quickly being...6 seconds.
So, it it dead?
Thanks,
Lee

Hola,
Sometime I have your same issue.
On my mobo the problem is caused by usb ports: if I connect too much things (normally I use 7 peripherals) the pc doesn't boot.
Sometime happens that I forget USB MP3 Player plugged-in so the pc doesn't boot, all fans spin for a second and then it turns off.
But if I unplug it, it boots regularly...:icon_tiphat:

Small update.
When I turn the power on. I can see a red light flash. Its located next to the CPU fan connector. Its flashes for only an instant, then turns off.

The red light by the CPU is a CPU power/heat indicator. Do you have another power supply you can try with the system? I would also try taking everything out of the case to make sure nothing is grounding against the case or a standoff. If you have a CPU cooler that mounts with a retention bracket on the bottom of the motherboard than try removing the retention bracket and just holding the CPU cooler on the CPU.

It sounds like your PSU has given up. Get a new one. Or at least try another (being more powerful than the original)
I wouldnt be doing this "just holding the CPU cooler on the CPU" as stated above, sounds alittle crazy!

He's a tech. It may sound a little crazy to you, but its just a diagnostic test. Its not something he's meant to do for a long time, just long enough to see if his computer spins up.

Thanks for the help!
I figured it out. Tried all parts in another computer. The motherboard was the only one that did not work. Getting a replacement.
Peace
