Geforce 8400 GS (XFX) hanging problem

I am having a serious problem with this graphics card.In windows vista ultimate while using aero desktop environment after 3-5 minutes my machine is getting hanged completely and i have to use the restart button of my cabinet.Another problem is that whenever i try to play a game of good graphics(Test drive unlimited,Sega rally revo,prince of persia,assasins creed etc)it is getting hanged within a minute.So please solve the problem for me.thankyou.:smile:

My Configuration

AMD X2 Dual Core 4000+
MSi k9agm2-l2 motherboard
Geforce XFX 8400 GS
1 GB DDR2 kingston memory
160 GB SATA samsung

I would start by testing the card in another system if possible. That would show whether it is a hardware failure or not. If it acts normally in another system or you can't test it in another system than I would download driver cleaner pro from guru3d and uninstall your display drivers then run driver cleaner in safe mode and reinstall your drivers. See if it is just a corrupted driver.

but the problem started when i upgraded my PC from 64 bit to amd x2 dual core and not only once everytime i install vista the same problem starts.its a permanent problem i changed my gcard from the service center due to this problem bt with no results.even i replaced my motherboard cuz it was under warranty and i told them the problem.nothing seems to solve.please try to solve my problem.i am a bit worried cuz i cant use windows vista ...

I have the lastest motherboard bios file installed.In Xp whenever i try to play games like test drive unlimited,Sega rally revo,assassins creed,even max payne 2,it is getting hanged after a couple of min...bt when i play soccar games and cricket games like pes 2008,euro 2008,cricket 07 it is nt getting hanged

I have the same Problem as the creator of this Thread.

My Board MSI K9A2 Neo Series Dual Core 2 x 2000 Ghz 2x 1GB RAM

GCard = XFX GeForce 8400GS 256RAM

I can use all Program i want, but Games beat my Computer and it getting hanged.

The Games are: Prince of Persia, Empire At war + Addon FoC. Maybe is the aerator is to weak? Its only a little thing maybe 2,5 x 2,5 cm.

Can u switch it?

Are you able to test the card in another system? Is this XP or Vista? What driver versions have you tried so far? Can you try another card in this system to see if the problem goes away?

Well I'm not able to test it in another System =(.
I just have the same Problem as Subhankar.

Its a brand new Computer. Windows XP Pro.
My older Computer used the same system and all goes fine. -.-

You can say my older System can now do more then my new one its very pathetic. But i cannot use the old one anymore, because i sold it.

Maybe i'will take my money back from the Seller. =(
