Hi there, im having some issues with the powersaving features on my mobo. I have tried a variety of power settings in bios and in Vista pwr management with some success, i get the motherboard to drop the multiplier to 6 from 9 but no matter what i do the vcore remains untouched.
I have set everything to Auto in BIOS regarding vcore and frequencys but still no luck. I have no problems OC:ing and tweaking other stuff but getting the vcore to drop in C1E/EIST seems a no go....

Specs are as follows:
XFX 780i with P05 BIOS
Q6600 G0 stepping @stock
2x8800GT in SLi
4xOCZ PC6400 EPP 2GB (8GB in total)
Zalman ZM-850HP
Vista Ultimate x64 SP1

I hope someone has any ideas

What are you using to monitor the Vcore? If you aren't using CPU-Z try it and see if you get the same results. CPU-Z is available from cpuid.com. Have you tried clearing your CMOS? I will have someone check that on a 780 here just to be sure it isn't something weird in the BIOS. Is your BIOS P05 or P05P?

I have done a couple of cmos resets and it have made no difference to the vcore issue, i have used cpuz, speedfan and everest ultimate, they all report the same values at all time.

The bios reads as 7B1N2P5P, im assuming it's P5P ;-)

thank's for the quick reply  I might try to flash to an older BIOS and check if theres any difference... Havent used the pwr save modes prior to this bios but since i got the urge to save some electricity it would be nice to get it working :frown: the power consumption tends to stack up when you run several comps 24/7..
