After flashing the bios on my MG-630i-7109 from 1.4 to 1.5, the HDMI audio is now nonfunctional. Under sound devices, it says not plugged in which is obviously not the case because the video is working fine.

Nvidia HDMI audio driver was 1.0.0.26. Worked fine during 1.4 bios. I've rolled the driver back to 1.0.0.6 which activates the HDMI audio but it never worked in the first place, and it still doesn't work. I've tried 1.0.0.23, same results as *.26 - HDMI not plugged in.

Been working on this for a few days but still can't figure it out. HDMI audio is set to auto in bios so the problem can't be there. Under device manager, Nvidia HDMI audio is working properly.

Running Vista Ultimate x86, 630i-7109, E2160, 2gb ram, 120gb HDD. Nvidia video driver is the latest one 175.19 (I think).

If anyone has any other suggestions, would be appreciated. Tried flashing the bios back to 1.4 but winflash gave me an error!

I have never seen that problem with this board before. What is the ordering code for your motherboard? There are a few different revisions of this board. Can you make a support ticket at http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/Help/Support/Home.aspx and PM me the ticket number?

It is on the box and on a sticker on the board between the CPU and memory. You posted MG-630i-7109 already. I just would like to verify so that I don't pull the wrong board.

Thanks for your help.

I found this thread through a Google search while trying to fix this very same problem on my Acer X1200. It has a built-in GeForce 8200, and has an HDMI port on the back. HDMI audio worked fine until yesterday, when I installed a BIOS update from Acer. I have the very same "Not plugged in" message under sound devices. If anyone has any insights into this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

If not, I believe the problem lies in HDCP. After the bios update, for some reason, the HDCP key is changed or lost or whatever. You might have to flash a new HDCP key to your motherboard. Your vendor, ACER in this case, should be able to help you.

I had the same problem again with the XFX 8200 board and it was how it ultimately got resolved.
