View Full Version : The Difference

John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama were walking down a Washington DC street when they came upon a homeless man.

John McCain, gave the man his business card and told him to come by the office for a job. He then took $20.00 out of his pocket and give it to the man.

Hillary was very impressed, so when they came upon another homeless person , she decided to help. She walked over to him and gave him directions to the welfare office. She then reached into John McCains pocket and got out $20. She kept $15 for her administtative fees and gave the homeless man $5.

When they came upon yet another homless person, Barak told him to "have hope.. changes is coming..." and gave him nothing.

Now do you understand the difference?

All I can say is "Boo Hiss"

Let's keep politics out of computer forums!!!

p.s. I am neither Republican or Democrat. I vote for who I believe will do the best for the over all. At this time, I am still undecided.

I'm also undecided, but I can't vote yet anyways so it doesn't really matter.

I dont think any of the candidates are right for the US. What we need now is a strong leader whos not afraid to take action and is not corrupted by there buddies in the middle east.

Too bad there are no candidates this time that are not afraid to take action into their own hands. If I was the president I would use the full might of the US army and take all of the middle eastern oil fields instead of fighting against "apparent" WMD.

If I were him, one glance at hillory and I too would be looking at other women. Otherwise, he was an OK president I guess.

Surprisingly.. this thread seems to hit the nail on the head based on each candidate's plans.

Some people have "change they can believe in" too bad they dont have the slightest idea what that change is, maybe its a dollar.. or 64 cents..

I supported Huckabee.. but given the choices McCain is the best imo

I'll let the video do the speaking about McCain.

Now of course, you can't really judge a person by just one video. But damn, he does contradict himself alot.

i would go mccain at this point. I am a "republican" economically but a "democrat" socially. I dont believe in taxes or universal healthcare but I believe in gun control, abortion rights, and same-sex marriages. I know none of the candidates hold the same beliefs but out of the three, mccains got my vote.....not that it counts anyway as im registered in CA.

Well, I'm not saying that all other candidates haven't contradicted themselves before. I just never seen it to the extent McCain has. lol

He's in his 70"s he just forgets lol. I feel their are better people then them. I am not liking Obama, hillary, or Mc cain. I would put Obama as my last choice hillary and mc cain are a tie for me.

Gun control? Show me where gun control works ANYWHERE. Sorry this may be :offtopic: but its a huge pet-peeve of mine. Gun control is a silly premise that doesn't work and only serves to hinder law abiding citizens. People that are using guns to commit crimes don't care what the law says about what they can own and are going to own them either way. People that have a legal right, privilege, even responsibility to own weapons are hindered from doing so.

a well-regulated militia as "being necessary to the security of a free State" and prohibits infringement of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms."

AMEN Brotha.. Gun Control has failed us before.. if im going to do illegal things with guns do you think i care if my gun is legal??

i dont really have a big problem with guns per say but i just dont really see the necessity of having fully automatic assault weapons totally legal. handguns to some extent i see can be used for defensive purposes. what i guess i really meant to saw is some form of gun control back (federal assault weapons ban-style). also i think they should make it a national law to enforce gun locks or better mechanisms in place to ensure no accidents do occur. you cant argue to the number of unnecessary gun deaths. also i have been in trauma surgery and seeing someone lose their life over some flying piece of metal is not only horrible but is certainly preventable.
I know some might argue well the guns themselves are being misused and its up to the people to use them properly. however, people are dumb and impulsive or they simply suffer from psychological diseases/illnesses that compel them to do irrational things with the guns. I think they government should have better checks/mechanisms in place to really curb the sale to just about anyone.

Currently fully automatic, burst mode and other fire systems of the sort are illegal. There is a permit that you can get, but its difficult.

The assault weapons ban that expired only made it legal to have assault weapons.. not automatic assault weapons

well thats good... but i think we can do so much more. if you've ever been to pennsylvania and been entrenched in the warzone that is north philly, you'll understand what i mean. i think theres changes to gun policy and law that should be changed but i do think people should be able to carry guns. just wanted to clarify my stance on what i meant by gun control. but since this is :offtopic: i will now say whoever wins in the elections will lead a country through a tumultuous time in our history. and to see what the country will be like in four years is going to be quite an experience that i dont believe history has yet seen.

Gun control has done great things here in canada... when you have to register your gun and make sure its locked up or your liable kids dont tend to end up with them.
your right though, when it comes to illeagle firarms and gangs the gun control doesn't do a thing. criminals will get firearms however they want and do whever they want with them. But I like the idea of knowing some random kid at my sisters school cant just go home and get his fathers gun out when some bully push's him around though.

Class 3 License (AKA Silencer, short barreled rifle, full-auto) is only $200 per a gun + tons of paperwork for the first one. You are talking about a year of time to do all the paperwork. Dad has some class 3 weaponry.

srpeters18

Or, you can teach your kids responsible gun ownership. I grew up with, my dad grew up with it and so on. And guess what? My 7 year old knows more about proper handling and use of a firearm than most 17 year olds. Most accidental gun injuries actually occur because their parents hide them and the kid doesn't know what to do with it when he finds it, they're naturally curious. If a gun is a natural part of life, the curiosity isn't there anymore.

And more gun control isn't going to help North Philly, at all. It hasn't helped DC ever. Handguns have been illegal in WA D.C for over twenty years and they rank in the top 5 in the US for homicide. Tell you anything? Not just anybody can buy a gun, legally. They're really easy to get on the street though.

To me, better gun control would mean making all states "Shall Issue" when it comes to concealed weapons permits, and regulate the permit process. An 8 hour class and qualification on the range is plenty. For those of you that don't know "shall issue" means that if someone applies for a permit and passes the background check, the state is required to issue the permit. Most states are already there.

And do you really believe the government should be MORE involved in your life? Really? Cause these are the same people that everybody is upset might be listening to their telephone conversations. You don't want the government to look at you too closely, but you want them to screen everyone's criminal, medical, and financial history? You can't have your cake and eat it too.

And the only people that like the assault weapons ban are people that have no idea what an assault weapon is. People get worried anytime they see a black rifle and assume its meant to kill people and nothing else. AR-15's, definitely considered an assault rifle, are great for varmint shooting at long ranges. I know people that deer hunt with AK-47's. I own an SKS. Why should it matter what gun I have?

Actually, I own 7 guns. Is that a bad thing? Should I just get my one for personal defense and leave it at that? What if I really enjoy shooting? Have you ever gone to a range just to shoot 2 or 3 boxes of ammo? Its a wonderful way to relieve stress.

And gun control isn't going to stop your neighbor's kid from bringing a gun to school. Even if you manage to take all the guns away everywhere, what's next? Take the knives away too? And then baseball bats? How about some personal responsibility? Most of my guns are locked up. One isn't. Its ready to defend my home and family.

I carry concealed (or did before I moved to California, working on that now) and wouldn't walk through downtown Seattle at night without my gun. When people are on the main strip selling drugs at 8:00 at night while I'm walking with my kids, you'd better believe I carried my gun everywhere.

Well, let us take back to topic then.

A teacher in Elmira, New York asked her 6th grade class how many of them were Obama fans. Not really knowing what an Obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny.

The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different...again.
Little Johnny said, 'Because I'm not an Obama fan.'
The teacher asked, 'Why aren't you an Obama fan?'
Johnny said, 'Because I'm a Republican.'

The teacher asked him why he's a Republican.
Little Johnny answered, 'Well, my Mom's a Republican and my Dad's a Republican, so I'm a Republican.'
Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, 'If your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would that make you?'

With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, 'That would make me an Obama fan.'

Well i'm an outsider, but judging by the current US president, the world has had enough republican presidents for a while. Foreign policy is what matters to foreigners the most :).
And lately the US foreign policy was more or less: ''You don't like it? then go f*ck yourself!''

There is one stereotype about Americans: you guys shoot first and ask questions later. The Iraq war actually follows that line in real life. But you also gave us Star Trek and Star Wars so i forgive you .

I don't think you can go worse than Bush if you elect either candidate, Mccain or Obama, but personally i'm obviously leaning towards Obama.
I know it's not really my business, but you can't shoot me over the internet :), so i will express my opinion freely.
