ZipZoomFly has the MSI GTX260 for $259.99 after a $40 mail in rebate. Not a bad price.
Edit July 14th: Price dropped to $247.99 after MIR.

WOW!!! That's a VERY GOOD price! :jawdrop:
But since I'm planning first to upgrade my e6600 to a q6600 in the next few weeks, I guess I'll wait a bit before upgrading my 8800GTX. ;-)

I'm aiming more toward the GTX280 rather than GTX260...but like I said, NOT NOW. I'll start saving money again after I'll buy the Q6600. ;-)
But even now, $499 for a GTX280 isn't bad at all for what you're paying, if you have that money f course...

Zachig, if I were you, I would wait for the Nahalem CPUs, and invest in that rather than the Q6600. It's a good processor trust me, because I own one, but I guess that would be a better pick since it will be the next newer thing out there. Depending on what you really want though, if you are doing some intense work that require 4 cores and you just need it right now, then I won't stop you from buying a Q6600. Make a wise choice. :)

Hehehe... Honestly, I only want it to improve a bit my gaming/3DMark performance . Since I'm having a business trip soon to the US (to Detroit) I feel tickling in the tips of my fingers to buy some new hardware for my PC. So the only thing I really need now that doesn't cost too much is a CPU upgrade. I don't have too many to spend on this, so I thought a Q6600 would be nice.
Honestly, I don't do too much 'heavy processing' on my PC, so I'm not sure whether I really need this upgrade, so furthermore...A Nahalem CPU would be an overkill, I guess...
And beside that, I'm not sure whether the Nahalem will be availabe by the time I'll be in Detroit (somewhere between 5/Aug-18/Aug).
So...What do you think I should do??? Again, I'm mainly interested in the Q6600 for a slight gaming performance boost and a better 3DMark scoring...;-)

I'm liking the Q6600 for gaming and benches, I can run it up to 3.6 depending on the board. Daily I run it at 3.2 and I on the XFX 8800 GT Alpha Dog I was using I went from 12500 to 14999 best run.
I picked up an e8400 to play with gotta install it this week, and like the q6600 well enough I'm probably going to buy one for the shelf before they hit EOL.
Nahalem is a heck of a processor but I'm not ready to go out all that cash for the new platform, let prices drop and if I'm lucky next year I can phase in with that.

That's why I'm even more convinced now to go with the Q6600.
I just don't have the extra bucks to spend on a whole new system...:frown: At least not in the near future...;-)

Same here. To bad there is no socket adapter or something that would allow us to use the same systems.
On topic; That price is what it should be at as the 4870 spanks it's little behind and has more features and more DirectX support.
