Hello ive just installed a xfx 9800 512 gtx xxx . Ive used Ntune and i can manually turn the fan control to 100% but after playing Cod4 for a minute or 2 the system takes back control. and its running at 38% with 64c is there any way to override this or maybe run something from a diff spot on my mobo to the connector for the fan?

mobo is P5N-E sli 650i
650 thermaltake psu
wind xp

Uninstall Ntune NOW.

Download Rivatuner and use that.

A guide is here for how to change the fan speeds and even set profiles for it.

It depends on how high of a OC you get. I would use a combo of Rivatuner and ATI tool. Use ATI tools 3d view to make sure your not artifacting and use Rivatuner to set the overclock.

You slowly raise the clocks until you notice in games you get artifacts. Try to play a very intensive game like Crysis for 20 minutes to make sure its stable. I will usually play a game for a minute or two and up the clocks until i start to see artifacts, then i back down the clocks until i get 100% stability.
