Yep, somehow these chips do that. I am impressed by these results, as this is my first over clock. No stability issues either. Lots of people talk crap about my board too but I got it running DDR2 @ 1000mhz; now that I got the latest BIOS I'm going to try 1066mhz when I get back from leave! Also, my little 750i Asus is now running at 1500 FSB with no voltage adjustments to the North Bridge. The only thing that was amiss would have to be that the VCore was running 1.3V to my q9450 so I pipped it down, back to 1.2V. For some reason the board thought the chip needed all that juice, go figure.

I give the q9450 high recommendations as I do the Asus P5N-D.

PS: idle temps are hovering at 49C - load hits 70C.

Nice OC. :icon_tiphat: I personally like the P5N-D, a great board by Asus, probably the best 750i OCing board.

Thanks Goliath. This is my first attempt. Because of the benefits I noticed with this oc I'm going to seriously get my act together and see what I can't do about cooling. I'm thinking of going for something like 3.8ghz but I want to see how low I can keep voltages because I heard that that's what ruins a chip.

High voltages can kill chips but as long as you dont go overboard your chip will be fine. ;-)
