Hi,

I just bought some few weeks ago a new system.
I was expecting a lot from this system, but I have to say I am facing some disapointment, because I believe the full system is brided.

I am completly beginner in OC, and I don't expect to make a huge OC, but just to improve a little bit everything

That's why I don't want to go to BIOS setting, as I am scared to make some mistake. The best option should be via Nvidia Panel but it was a failure (Black Screen/Freeze and reboot).

I am looking for someone who knows how to set the right setting to make the OC the smoothest way through Nvidia (voltage/FSB etc..)

Briefly system:
XFX 790i Ultra
QX9650 3.0ghz
XFX GTX280 SLI x2 way
4Gb DDR3 Corsaire XMS 1600
Vista Ultimate 32Bits SP1
Water cooling Gigabyte 3DGalaxy2 (only on CPU)

I don't understand why on CPUz my Core Speed is 2 000 Mhz and sometimes go up to 3 000 Mhz and multiplier is set a x6 and on Nvidia at x9 .. I am completly lost ...

First things first!! get into bios and out of the nvidia control panel to do your tuning!!
If you are good with the BIOS and know your way around there, your come to right place.
If you dont know much about BIOS yet hop on in there and take a look. Dont change anything just yet. get familiar first.
Heres a light reading to get you on the go.

intel eist is managing your processor, Under load, it will drop the multi to 6 and lower the voltage to lower heat and electricity usage. Its an option in the bios, uneder processor. Usually called EIST.

You just want to go ahead and turn that off

Almost. Under load the multi stays where you set it. At idle it drops the multi and the voltage to save energy. Under load it works at full capacity, like its supposed to.

you were thinking it correctly but it was the fingers that had a mind of their own and typed what they thought was needed :p ... but i agree turn off anything that deals with power saving eist , c1e and 1 other one ( i cant remeber it right off hand your Manual should tell you ) Virtualization support can be turned off or on with no disconcernable results , it helps out those using multiple accounts @ one time ..
