I need to know how to remove a service in Vista really quick. More specific the Lexmark printer service. Its not finding the .exe in System 32 and so its preventing the Print Spooler from starting for some reason.
Any ideas? I need to get rid of it so print spooler will start.
Did you install it from a CD? If so, try uninstalling it with the disk.

Did you try disabling the lexmark service in msconfig?

What i want to do exactly is manualy get rid of the service so print spooler isnt dependant on this thing so i can get this printer running.
BTW this isnt my machine. I dont install extra software lol

Go to Start -> Run and type in "msconfig". First, verify that the service is not listed in your Startup tab, but if it is then remove it.
Second, go to the Services tab and look for it there, and you can set it to NOT automatically start at bootup.

I got it all worked out. The problem was the lexbc service was a dependancie for print spooler (Idk why but it was) but yet i couldnt start lexbc. For her to be able to use her printer she obviously needed the print spooler i couldnt start.
I used a reg hacker to get rid of the registry entries and it worked.

Yea i got it all figured out :) I was able to delete enough registry entries starting with Lexmark (Some wouldnt delete) to make the service go away and now print spooler works. So was able to get outa that house!!

Sounds like when you are doing this you need to stop the pooler services first then had to remove the lexmark services.
I am glad everything works now.
