You can still use a bigger picture on a smaller res monitor. Most always it looks better. All my nature shots i have are 2560x1600 and they look awesome.

But when you make a desktop, it will look better if you make it the exact res.

the difference will show up on a good screen, miker.
But anyways, its not harder to make it bigger, and its more future-proof.
If you know your way around photopshop, you should not be comlaining.....
And its not like your starting off with a low res pic, heck, I'm sure if you ask the right person, he might give you the OG high-res logo.....

Well i like to downsize bigger pics instead of trying to upscale smaller pics. Ill Prolly be using this when i upgrade my LCD so id rather not bother anybody then and just have a big pic now :)

You see the same amount of pixels no matter if it is a 1680x1050 picture running on a 1680x1050 monitor or a 1920x1200 picture running on 1680x1050 so there is no reason it would look better, it would most likely look worse as Microsoft has to change the res for you when you set to desktop.

:dielaffin:

Wow Miker you ok? You don't see the same amount of pixels, the pixels are grouped together It actually makes it look better.

3 years of school.
Try a apple pro display, they are pretty good. Also, at school we had a lcd that calibrated the colors automaticaly and could load color profiles for certain customers/programs/printers. It was worth about 3 grand if I remember right.
You see a difference on a good monitor. By good I mean design industry standards.

Have a look at this too:
http://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?pid=10897

check it out, I just saw you can rotate it. Lols

Not useful for gaming, but maybe working on a tall photo.....

Well first off a monitor that supports 1650x1050 cant put more than that many pixels on the screen. Pretty much common sense.

http://thephotofinishes.com/plugrevupsize.htm
One of the distinct advantages of vector drawings and graphics produced in programs like Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, and Macromedia Freehand is that they are nearly infinitely scalable - 1/100x to 100x with little or no distortions.

Heres (http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/image-resize-for-web.htm) a guide that you can use if you want to downsize the image to smaller sizes. The things in it help picture quality.

Goth, you miss-understood me. I was saying a 1920picture will look the same or worth than @ 1680 compared to a 1680picture running at 1680 when set on a desktop of 1680x1050 res.

The other people said a higher res desktop picture looks better (On a low res display).

Yaa, a 30inch Apple Display... *Drool*

Because it does. This is whyYou don't see the same amount of pixels, the pixels are grouped together It actually makes it look better.

Ok let me try to rephrase this. Its like a bowl of cereal. Its always better to have more than you can eat, rather than having less than what you can eat and being hungry.

Rofl thats a horrible analogy.

Make a Logo? I might mess around with it tomorrow, you can make stuff bigger in PS if you put a blur filter on it after you expand it.

Or you can use the auto-trace funtion in illustrator I showed you....unless we are talking about the new 3d logo.....

Miker, I gots a 9x12 wacom, I tried a smaller one, but it really sucked. My advice is try to borow one before you buy, because I went throught 3 before I found the one that suited me (It felt really akward to use such a small one). Dont cheap out here, and dont get discouraged at first like me. It took me a few months to really feel comfortable with it, its just so different from using a mouse. This is such a great tool, but it takes a bit of getting used to. When I'm on it, its like a mouse, the only thing I dont do with it is game. I really love my intuos now, and the buttons are great and macros too. I dont touch my keyboard in cs3, well, hardly, when im using the wacom, I mapped the selection tool, ctrl-z and the zooms. Again, dont even bother with the small 4x6 ones, they are for kids. Oh, and get a wacom, not a knockoff.

Ps, I dunno what you would want a wacom to do this kind of job.
Guys, find or ask scott for the logo, and I'll make a simple background.
(At the resolution you want....)

Miker

I will make one too. I just want a Wacom and this is and excuse to get one.

I want this logo...
http://www.bjorn3d.com/images/Logo/logo_2007_08_10.jpg
But I will replace the blue with black.

I was thinking about this Wacom, what do you think is better, to have a LCD, or to have size?
http://www.wacom.com/cintiq/12WX.cfm

Edit, got bored, here you are at your uber high res, I have a 1680x1050 one too if you don't want windows to downsize it for you.

I stretched that 200x100px picture to 1920x1200, I really ****ing had to blur that mother ****er to make it look good. :-)

Lol but you have to know what it is to really get what it says. Thats why i was just saying make one cause then you can be creative and make your own logo.
