Nice review, Kingston certainly stepped up to the plate with this ram.

DDR2-2000 @ 1.65V is quite sweet. Great review.

Nice review. Any plans to test 12GB RAM in the Quadzilla rig? I'd be interested to know if there are any practical benefits (or drawbacks) of going from 6GB to 12GB in real applications.

We'd like to test a 12GB kit in the Test Rig, we've only seen one 12GB kit and it wasn't designed for Desktops.

Mismatched ram isn't going to be a real good comparison, we're told the platform will handle it but how it handles it will vary board to board.

The one 12GB kit we saw ran in excess of $1000 dollars so we don't expect a single 12GB kit to be much of an issue for most users.

Two identical 6GB kits, that would be a hard sell to get the second kit. If we can talk a company into loaning a second kit we will.

Currently Corsair is fielding 1600 MHz triple channel, I talked to them last week and they're supposed to be sending a 6GB kit of their fastest.

Thats too bad I would really like to see more manufacturers come out with 2k RAM.

I don't think there is anything that is caught up. Soon as you plug it in they have some new doodad that's shinier and prettier.

The memory manufacturers assure me that they will be fielding faster kits, Kingston was just the first to make the breakthrough.

Theres going to be faster than 2000 at 1.65?

Dunno, I've been assured that other memory Manu's are going to be fielding 2k kits. Beyond that I can't say.

I can get the Kingston kit to 2170ish without exceeding 1.65v.
