Anybody else had problems installing this driver? I did the usual when changing driver: turned off antivirus, uninstalled driver, rebooted into safe mode, ran driver sweeper, rebooted into safe mode, installed new driver and rebooted. Although PhysX was shown as enabled in the NVidia control panel, none of the PhysX demos would work. Disabling and re-enabling made no difference. I repeated the process with the same result.

I got it to work by re-installing in normal mode without uninstalling first. The installation took longer than in safe mode and resulted in the applications working properly. Any suggestions as to why?

I don't think you install the drivers in safe mode. I think your mistake was rebooting into safe mode then installing the drivers.

You should be:

Uninstall from control panel
boot into Safe mode and run driver cleaner pro
reboot into normal mode and install drivers

I'm amazed they installed in safe mode, not that I've ever tried it, but it seems like they would check modes before installing.

I installed my last set of drivers in safe mode and didn't have any problems.
Usually I uninstall and then go in safe mode and run driver sweeper/ cleaner pro andthen when I reboot after cleaning, defragging I install the new drivers.
But this time I just tried installing them in safe mode and it worked fine.

No problem installing, just followed my regular way of uninstalling the old ones (now + the physx stuff too) and rebooting before installing the new. And yes have anitvirus turned off. Installed on my copy of Vista 64-bit with no hitch after that. I have noticed that there are some errors in LOTRO now with DX 10 (namely the shadows) that were not there before the new drivers. But I guess they will be fixed. :)

don't really notice the performance increase in coh but tf2 seems a lot smoother now even though I didn't see anything about it in the changelog, maybe I missed it.

I had to go back to the old ones. Games started crashing after installing this.
