Actually, its KDE.

Since I took the screenie, I've modified things a tad :). The little superkaramba applets (on the right of the screenshots) now start up preconfigured and automatically as soon as I log in. The weather one works great!

As for Wine, unfortunately I haven't done too much to get it working. I've mostly been spending time tweaking my system and getting everything streamlined...I've learned a lot! Wine seems to come preconfigured with a few DLLs that have been built from scratch (basically emulated Windows DLLs) but supposedly the best DLLs to use are Win98SE ones straight from a windows installation or off of a Windows CD. I'm tempted to grab my Win98SE and extract 'em just to give it another, more wholehearted go.

Right now my system is running great. Looks sleek and runs very fast! I'm trying to set up my mail apps to use a shared mail folder on a server in my basement (they are both Mozilla Thunderbird), and am toying with the idea of centralizing some basic stuff. I already am using the server to sync up with my web server and back up stuff. I'm about to use it to dupe my mySQL DB on my web server so that if my web server ever goes down all I will have to do is switch some simple code around and I can get mySQL working off of my house :).

I make it a habbit to keep my desk neat. Last year I got so sick of how dirty my office was getting with parts everywhere. I emptied the room and bought new furniture then boxed up all my old stuff soon to be sold on eBay.

In the beginning when I was having weekly LAN parties my office looked like this

I'm currently running a light GUI on mine that I like for simplicity's sake. For some reason many of the WindowBlinds skins have issues with the menus or systray icons, unfortunately. Desktop wallpaper is from X3: Reunion 8)

Haha no no thats a REAL Vista screenshot. Its on a small 40gig IDE. And whenever i use it i never have any of my drives plugged in at the same time. Im testing it, like an Alpha tester. This is my 6th time, and so far so good. You can tell, cause the taskbar is pink, whereas a transpack only has black. Like my laptop desktop for instance.

Ok i got it PP.:) Before installing it,i used to hear that it's worthless but actually it's not that bad atleast for me.I've been on Vista for more than 3 months & i've got less errors in Vista than XP so far.

man, that is sooo wierd that your 2 7950's just dont get along in SLI. My SLI acts up a we bit here and there aswell and i am running identical cards just diff. bios revisions.
.... have you thought of running the XFX bios in the asus or VICE VERSA and manually finding a happy medium for the clocks and timings?

The memory timings are the same actualy. The boards are completely identical except board IDs (becasue one is XFX and the other is Asus) and how high one can clock. I got the clocks to 650/730 because thats as high as the Asus will go and be completely stable. My XFX can run 700/770 lol. (XFX pwns tbh) They both have Zalman VF700s which is keeping them around 52c load. Idk what the problem is. Ive tried my trusty 93.71s, the latest drivers, revamped drivers (optimized ones) everyhting. Chipset is the latest and i even OCed my X2 4800+ to 2.7ghz @ 1.45v. My 3dmark score of course went up but not as much as it should have. My friend is getting 9k with 2 7900GT's and an X2 5600+ with 2gig DDR2 800. I should be getting somewhere around that at least.

Yeah using the Xenomorph. I like it and works pretty good. I just find that adobe stuff opens weird in it though but other then that it is pretty cool. As you can see I have a messy desktop. This is actually one of the cleaner moments as it gets really messy during the summer months because our business booms then the most. Yes that is a picture of me a over a year ago. My girlfriend took it!

It's no joke, I am a very organized person. It is a pain after instaling the OS and after each game is installed adjusting the start menu but well worth it. I am happy with just quick launch, since I keep my start menu so organized. Thanks for the suggestion though. I prefer the clean, uncluttered look. I have always had wallpapers up, but since going to Win7, I now find it annoying how it defaults to shuffle pictures. I don't feel I should have to uncheck all and make sure position picture is set to center each and every time I want to change the wallpaper, so I refuse to use it. I know the picture position ain't a big deal, but it should stay to the last setting that I changed it to. All my wallpapers are sorted into folders by dimension, by the way.

I never have that problem. I set it up the way I want and it stays there. my issue is tring to find the right sized images for my desktop Which I hope i just resolved. here is my current one running Nvision Surround 470GTX x 2 5040 x 1050, Nvidia does not support my combined res of 5760 x 1080 currently.

if you look to your right you will see three quick launches, 1 of these is the normal quicklaunch, the second is benchmarking, and the other is games. as you can see my desktop is quite clean and does not have a bunch of tool bars everywhere.

Actually I googled Space. the orginal image size is 6000x6000+ so I had to cut out most of the image. it is still squashed, but still looks cool. if you want the original let me know I can email you a copy

I found some really cool pictures on the Hubble Telescope website so I'm good for now.

I should have mentioned when I go to change the wallpaper. I do keep all my wallpapers on different drive from windows, so that could be why also.

I do the same myself. there is a check mark that will keep your desktop from changing.
